There are 63 without clear sources of infection. Wanhua travel history: 84
There is another death case, a woman in her 70s who works in Wanhua.
The lady who unfortunately died refused to go to the doctor in the beginning and was later found dead at home. She lived alone. Her family members have been hospitalized.
The health authorities are planning to send out warning texts to those who have stayed for an extended period of time in Wanhua between April 20 and early May but who have left #Taipei, asking them to pay attention to their own health conditions. If there are any symptoms...
... they need to go get tested at local health bureaus.
Digital minister @audreyt has developed a digital registration system for anyone who needs to go into stores or restaurants. It is now built into the Line account of the CECC.
The system is connected with the five major telecom providers and the relevant information will be saved by the service providers' systems and when there are new cases in specific locations, the government will be able to understand which area has new cases and contact the ...
... specific individuals. There is now five internal chain infections at five hospitals across #Taiwan.
Far Eastern Hospital has 14 cases. The livestream is broken.....
Heping Hospital has four new cases inside the hospital and there are a total of five people who have been infected within the hospital.
Tri Veteran hospital's Songshan Branch has one new doctor and one nurse who have also been tested positive, who are likely infected by another infected nurse who was confirmed earlier. There are three cases in total.
Chen reiterated that he still saw some media outlets going to rapid testing sites to do interview and even get close to interview some people waiting to be tested. He said these are high risk activities and some of these individuals may become positive in the next few hours.
He is also urging the media to not get together in a group and put all the microphones towards the interviewee. He said the media should send representatives to do the interviews rather than still forming a group. @heldavidson
He also reminded the media that they need to wear masks at all times and maintain social distance. Interviewees should also wear masks and microphones should always be disinfected.
Chen said he sometimes saw media outlets put the microphones close to the interviewees and put them back into their bags without disinfecting them. He said these are risky behaviors.
Chen is reminding citizens again to not leave home and go around the city. He urges them to stay home and watch TV or read. He also called on citizens from cutting down gatherings but he tells them to bear with it for a while.
He said the daily cases are now going around 200 to 300 every day and he said it seems like the trend shows that the outbreak didn't deteriorate.
He said the rate of testing positive has been dropping over time in Taipei through rapid testing.
Chen said places that will set up rapid testing stations are local hotspots and places where confirmed cases have frequently visited.
Counties that have been using rapid testing are Taipei City, New Taipei City and Changhua County. Officials said that if a number of cases are higher at a specific location, the chances of false-positive results are lower.
The media asked about the more than 20,000 undetermined test results and officials said those are the ones that are waiting to be processed because processing the tests will need time.
Officials said there are no intentions to not process all the tests and they will still share all the test results with the public.
Chen said the government is going to leave a certain amount of the new AZ vaccines for frontline medical staff and they are also going to encourage more people to get their first doses.
Around 110,000 medical staff have been vaccinated and the government will also ration how to coordinate the vaccines for those who need their second #COVID19 shots.
Around 500 people with mild symptoms have already been sent to the centralized quarantine venues or quarantine hotels with upgraded level of protection.
Today's death case was only tested positive after she died. The lady's children tried to send her to the hospital but she refused to. Family members offered her some necessities and left. Two days later, she was found dead at home.
Chen admitted that there have been a few cases of frontline journalists or their drivers that have already been tested positive for #COVID19, which is why he raised the guidelines for journalists to follow while they are out working.
Chen said citizens shouldn't be too worried if they have been to the same places as other confirmed cases if they didn't really have intensive interaction. But if there are close contact or intensive interaction, they should monitor their own health and seek medical support ...
... if they have some symptoms and share their travel history with the medical staff. However, it is really hard to determine whether one is infected or not purely based on the symptoms.
Chen said the government's priority is to comprehensively implement relevant protocols for level three warnings.

Chen said #Taiwan's outbreak is still at its peak and most of the cases can still trace back to its source. He reminded all citizens to be careful again and he is calling on those coming into Taiwan from foreign countries can delay their trips.
Taiwan's New Taipei City government released the history of movement of many confirmed #COVID19 patients and the results show that many of these people rushed to popular local supermarkets in Xinzhuang, Yonghe and Banqiao, which are some of the hotspots. udn.com/news/story/120…
May 15 was the first day that #Taiwan reported more than 100 local cases in a single day and that was also the day when almost all supermarkets across Taiwan, especially in Taipei and New Taipei City saw the "panic-buying" scenes made up by super long lines of people.
Yesterday, New Taipei City's Health bureau released the history of movement and local hotspots and the result showed that several local PX marts (one of the most popular local supermarket chains), traditional market and park are all hotspots.
One day after #Taiwan's health authorities expand the level three warning to the entire country, hundreds of people across the island are expected to be fined up to $15,000 NTD for failing to wear masks in public. focustaiwan.tw/society/202105…
Kaohsiung Mayor @chimaichen said the city will issue 633 tickets for violations of the CECC guidelines that occurred over the past 24 hours. Among those violations, 604 cases involved people who ignored the mask-wearing rule, the mayor said.
Chen was one of several local government chiefs who pledged zero tolerance for those who break the rules and granted power to officers from different government departments to issue notices to people who do not wear masks in public.
On Thursday, Lithuania's parliament becomes the latest to call #China's persecution of the #Uyghurs in #Xinjiang genocide, voting to call for a U.N. investigation of internment camps and to ask the European Commission to review relations with Beijing. usnews.com/news/world/art…
The non-binding resolution, supported by three fifths of Lithuanian parliament members, also called on China to abolish a national security law in Hong Kong, and to let observers into Tibet and begin talks with its spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.
"We support democracy, as we will never forget the cruel lesson of living under occupation by a Communist regime for 50 years", said Dovile Sakaliene, a lawmaker who has been blacklisted by China and who sponsored the resolution.
"I think we are struggling with the fact that China’s regime of censorship over Xinjiang is intensifying. Researchers and journalists no longer have meaningful access to the region and the United Nations has been blocked from conducting their fact-finding missions."
"We need to continue to use what resources are available to us to try to put the pieces of a very complex puzzle together, to try to understand this rather significant shift in the policy that began with the arrival of Chen Quanguo."
After #China released videos featuring #Uyghur men and women in #Xinjiang denying US accusations that #Beijing is committing human rights violations against them, a text received by @AP showed that the videos are part of China's propaganda campaign. apnews.com/article/asia-p…
The videos, which officials have insisted are spontaneous outpourings of emotion, have also featured prominently in a series of government news conferences held for foreign media.
But the text obtained by AP is the first concrete confirmation that the videos are anything but grassroots. Sent in January to government offices in the northern city of Karamay, the text told each office to find one Uyghur fluent in Mandarin ...
