"The #COVID19 pandemic has brought us a tsunami of suffering. Over 3.4M lives have been lost. Some 500M jobs have gone. Trillions of $ have been wiped from global balance sheets. The most vulnerable are suffering most. And I fear this is far from over."

"I pay tribute to the healthcare workers who are the heroes of this pandemic. Millions of healthcare professionals continue to put themselves in harm's way every day. We owe them our deepest appreciation. This includes our colleagues at WHO."
-🇺🇳@antonioguterres at #WHA74
"Sadly, unless we act now, we face the situation in which rich countries vaccinate the majority of their people and open their economies while [#COVID19] continues to cause deep suffering by circulating & mutating in the poorest countries."
-🇺🇳@antonioguterres at #WHA74
"The 🌍 must respond resolutely & in solidarity to stop [#COVID19]. World leaders must urgently step up with a global plan for equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, tests & treatments. This starts with financing the @ACTAccelerator & its #COVAX Facility."
-🇺🇳@antonioguterres
"We are at war with [#COVID19]. We need the logic and urgency of a war economy to boost the capacity of our weapons: the vaccines."

"I am here as the voice of the millions of voiceless children who are left behind. They are the children who live with inter-generational poverty & hunger... [who] are forced to work & sell their bodies. They are the same who face the worst health outcomes."
-@k_satyarthi#WHA74
"While the 🌍 has suffered as one, we have not suffered equally. Two-thirds of the world's largest companies made an additional USD109 billion in 2020. At the same time 140 million children & their families will be pushed into acute poverty.
This is unacceptable."

To enable #COVAX to deliver on the promise of #VaccinEquity, the following immediate actions are needed: 1. Fund the @gavi COVAX Advance Market Commitment 2. Share doses, now 3. Free up supply chains by removing trade barriers, export control measures & other transit issues
Countries that are advanced in their vaccination programmes are seeing cases of #COVID19 decline, hospitalisations decrease & early signs of some kind of normality resume. However, the 🌍 picture is far more concerning bit.ly/3fPe1xr#VaccinEquity
