SAGE modelling released after the briefing shows gov have factored in large scale infection of the under 40s and lots of school disruption, so all that concern about loss of learning?

Netherlands had same conditions as UK last year.
Netherlands appeared to be using schools to "build up herd immunity"

When they needed a circuit breaker near the end of last year they also kept schools open

This was an intentional herd immunity via infection strategy.

The narrative in the article here is wait 4 weeks then let it rip because that will be the sweet spot.

So the idea is to get the over 50s double dosed and then away a Delta wave to spread
2/ Why will we reach a sweet spot in 4 weeks?

I assume that's when the over 50s have been double dosed.

It also means schools will be about to break up, and although the gov pretends otherwise they know schools are acting as Delta hubs.
3/ Been saying for a while I think the government believes the quickest route to herd immunity with what they consider an acceptable death and health toll is

Its a gamble based on impatience and pandering to lobbyists

If we had an adequate media then everytime a minister was interviewed they'd be asked about when the government will finally invest in ventilation.

All the evidence says this is one of the most important measures.

Can anyone remember the last time a minister was asked about ventilation?
3. Can anyone ever remember a minister being asked about investing ventilation in the whole pandemic?

UK government's total failure to address this is stark

So is the failure of the media to hold the gov to account for this glaring hole in their Covid strategy.

So the next question is, did the UK government know?

We've been raising concerns about how unreliable these seem when used in the real world.

Also wondering, did the UK gov produce findings that seemed to match the manufacturers claims that the FDA disputes?

Reading back through my original thread when they announced mass testing, I got sent the link to the Heads test and trace briefing on last day of term, only around 500 attended, most were probably too busy notifying close contacts.

No suprise Munro pops up to explain that actually it would be unethical not to experiment in schools.

3/ Which is a bit odd seeing as I've been fed a daily diet of being told that there's no sign of meaningful transmission in schools and that children hardly transmit

Media have found lots of experts and pediatrics quite certain theres nothing to see here
