#BombayHC bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Girish Kulkarni to hear PIL filed by adv @DhrutiMKapadia seeking #DoorToDoor vaccination drive for the elderly and bedridden citizens. @CMOMaharashtra likely to submit final policy on door-to-door vax drive.
Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni: We have issued publicity about our policy in print media, Twitter and even Facebook. But because of rains, we couldn't file an affidavit.

Dedicated email ID has been created and given wide publicity for gaining info on bedridden citizens.
AG: Name, Age, Reason For Bedridden is the requisite information.

13,584 bedridden citizens have communicated with us till now.

Such info was never collected by the Health Dept and thus the local bodies are verifying the information.

#BombayHC
AG: Based on community survey, people have responded.

CJ: So many people have responded. So what would be your future plans of action?

AG: Since this is a sizeable amount. We will start on a pilot basis from #Pune.

CJ: What is the population of such citizens in Pune?
Bench notes that in Pune there are only 50 such bedridden citizens and in Pimpri Chinchwad there are more than 190 such citizens.

CJ: You better start from Pimpri Chinchwad. Why in Pune where only 50 people are there.

#BombayHC
Sr Counsel Anil Sakhare for @mybmc tells the bench that in #Mumbai there are more than 2,800 such citizens. 17 wards are yet to complete the survey and that should need at least a week's time.

Bench notes that the state hasn't given wide publicity to the policy even in print.
CJ: Mr AG you sought two weeks time we gave you the time yet you haven't come up with any policy? You are seeking two weeks for everything? You should have been ready with the guidelines by now.

Kapadia: They could come up with a helpline number at least.

#BombayHC
CJ: Mr AG we aren't satisfied with this progress. We aren't going to say anything more. By Monday we need the guidelines at any cost.

Kapadia points out a news report wherein the authorities have made at least six months bedridden mandatory for taking benefit of this drive.
CJ: We will consider all this on the next hearing. Till then we need to see some progressive steps. Will take up this PIL on Tuesday.
