"On August 31, 2017, a coyote stalked a young woman and her two children at Round Ray Beach in Shelburne, NS. The screamed for her son to come to her, made roaring noises, & clapped her hands to frighten the animal away. It looked up & relocated to the grasses beside the beach."
Ok this one doesn't use the word "mauled" but the details are great: "On January 8, 2018, a coyote assaulted a woman and her miniature pinscher in Markham, Ontario. Her neighbor rescued them by defending the wild animal with a snow shovel."
This wiki author doesn't understand what details are salient & which aren't, but I adore the narrative touches. "On June 27, 2021 a 55 yo woman in Tuscany, Calgary, Alberta was mauled by an urban coyote while communicating with her sister on the phone from her front porch."
