Kenney starts by recognizing he’s on treaty 7 land in the briefest land acknowledgment ever and quickly pivots to a feel good story about a FN veteran, then pivoting to the “Notley/Trudeau alliance”
Kenney - Albertans we’re further victimized by economy, Covid and more.
No one could have seen any of those things coming he says.
(Except for everyone who did).
Kenney - The NDP should have supported us, but they wanted to shut everything down for ever and for always.
Kenney - Albertans are awesome because they jealously Guard their liberties and distrust government!
Ooooo Kenney is going to be blunt!
Kenney gets that some people didn’t like health restrictions. He had to face really hard decisions that filled him with dread.
He wouldn’t ever do anything that lets people die.
(SCS closures? Delayed COVID response? The “flu”?)
Kenney gives a shout out to Alberta Health Care Workers, especially the ones in the room!
See? Healthcare workers love me!
Ooooo! Kenney gets a boo on vaccination from inside the room!
Kenney - We’ve been fighting against the NDP the whole time!
(Literally asks for applause)
Kenney is going though his version of his governments greatest hits.
Most of them involve him referencing the NDP.
He REALLY doesn’t like the NDP.
Kenney - A trade certificate has every bit of much value as a university degree!
Not to be pedantic, but don’t some take longer than others?
Kenney - “Alberta is leading economic growth in Canada by a country mile!”
Not an Alberta unit?
Kenney doubles down on the Notley Trudeau alliance yet again.
Anyone wondering what the UCP campaign is gonna be based on!
Oooo Brett Wilson gets a shout out from Kenney from the stage!
Kenney - Clever people, Laurentian elites and the NDP all hate oil and gas! We’re doubling down! We’re fighting the Saudis the Venezuelans and the Russians!
Kenney - TMX is on track! Also Biden is bad! Biden is begging all the super bad countries to increase production, he should approve KXL.
Kenney announces that oil prices should be driven by countries behavior, not market prices because common sense?
Kenney - Amazon is awesome! 1000 jobs! We’re a global tech leader now! We’re having the best year ever!
Kenney - People who came to Alberta to film “The Last of us” and filled up our hospitals!
If you saw zombies, they were actors not the NDP!
(He legit said these)
Kenney is really getting fired up.
Dude could sell a sham-wow like nobodies business!
Kenney - Alberta is Back! Alberta is rising! (Guess he really liked that slogan) Alberta is on a roll!
Kenney - We’ve passed over 100 bills! We’ve worked harder and done more than any other province or even the feds!
(Kenney still struggles with the federal stage)
Kenney - We’ve carefully controlled spending and haven’t wasted any taxpayers money!
Um…
Kenney - We chucked the NDP curriculum and we replaced it with one that’s way better! Balanced facts!
Kenney - We passed a recall law that will be brought into force (sputters wildly) uh… in the next few weeks!
Kenney - We’re still going to fix surgical wait times! Docs love us!
Kenney - We’re doing so good with mental health and addictions! The NDP wanted to just get people high and deal drugs, safe supply is dangerous (wot?)!
Kenney - We’re fighting for a fair deal! We’re suing Trudeau over c-69 and we’re totes going to win!
Kenney - We’re demanding a fair deal!
(And then he somehow conflates equalization to resource development?)
Kenney - We’re going to do a provincial police force! People should be able to serve in the communities that they grow up in!
Kenney - We’ll have the leadership review in April. Pleads for internal party problems to be solved internally and not talked about publicly.
Which is actually quite telling given what we’ve heard about abusive relationships this month…
Kenney - Critics have kicked us when we’re down! But Alberta is back on the rise and on a roll! We’re a great land! God bless you! God bless Alberta!
Kenney is played out by “Won’t back down” by Tom Petty.
Bet uh…
Bet Tom would love that.
And that’s it!

Bought a ticket last night, but in a fascinating coincidence, the UCP claim they closed their registration for observers at almost the exact minute that the crowdfunding was successful.
That’s cool though. We’ve already heard from a few of the protestors who will be attending the AGM outside, and if the UCP won’t take $999 to let us inside, we’re totes happy to do the outside and chat with folks.

As stated in the fundraiser by the organizers (who are super amazing awesome people and an absolute inspiration) the funds will instead be donated to charity.
