2) I think there's a lot of like misinformation on the severity because Delta first of all was much more severe than the original Wuhan strain…. So even if it's not as severe as Delta it could cause an enormous amount of havoc if it's milder quote unquote like the Wuhan strain.

⚠️41x DROP IN NEUTRALIZATION—first lab study of #Omicron neutralization is out from @sigallab. Huge drops in Pfizer vaccine’s neutralization of #Omicron variant—from ~1321 to just ~32. Even Pfizer+infection saw sharp drop. But I’m hopeful for boosters (stronger than infection).🧵

2) This 41x is a huge drop in neutralization. The majority of the samples had degrees of vaccine escape. Only 5 had incomplete escape- among those vaccinated also with another infection (akin to a booster).

2) Ten people aboard the Norwegian Breakaway, operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, tested positive on Saturday, before the ship docked, according to the Louisiana Department of Health, and by Sunday, that number had risen to 17, health officials said.

2) “for example, that in the city of Tshwane Metro, more than 100 children under the age of 5 were admitted to hospitals with COVID in the first two weeks of the new fourth wave (Nov. 14 to 27). In the first two weeks in May 2021 wave, <20 children were admitted to hospitals.”
