That's true, the level and type of co-ordination became clearer after the event.

But days prior (see my next tweet) and on 1/6 itself, there was already enough publicly available info to know this was a coup attempt with a terrorist attack involved.

I gotta provide some context about my 12/27/20 tweet below. I was almost out of the cult & had accepted #TrumpLost. But I kept an open mind about supposed "evidence" GQP Senators promised to reveal on 1/6. That was the last possible legal "remedy."

I had underestimated the level of violence, but plenty of people closer to the subject gave explicit warnings on Twitter, that evidently were ignored by authorities before 1/6.

2020-2021 was a 2-yr period that changed my life (in my middle age.)

I had plans in Dec 2019 that had to be shelved in Jan 2020 when I learned of the coming pandemic. It's been a hell of a ride so far for so many people.

Then a fascist minority tried to destroy the the US.

Already today I've noticed on Twitter that a lot of fellow pro-democracy folk sound, like me, emotionally shattered because of the feelings that come up as we reflect on 1/6 and the aftermath.

IMHO, if you're not affected at least a bit, you might not "get" what's at stake.

I cannot rest until I know that the USA has sufficiently strengthened it's democratic guardrails to prevent the next terrorist attack that the domestic and international fascist resurgence is planning.

They mean to continue. You can see that by their actions and omissions.

Without a functioning USA, the rest of us in the world are f*cked.

I've followed US politics extremely closely since Feb 2016, and closely since the 1980s.

As a GenX kid the fear of suddenly seeing a mushroom cloud on the horizon was normal. The same dynamic is in play now.

In 1991 I made the mistake (like many others did) of thinking the USSR had broken up and Russia was going to be a normal country and we'd all live happily ever after.

Vladimir Putin came to power in August 1999.

After 1/6 I took a more objective look at his record in office.

The trajectory of what Putin and his oligarchic associates have been trying to do for the past 31 years is remarkably similar to what Mussolini and Hitler did from the WWI period onwards.

The evidence of TFG's long term association with this group is clear, deep, and wide.

In the 80s I thought I had it all worked out. The Cold War loomed large in every country that was affected, including my own, New Zealand.

I've spent a whole year reading and watching as much primary and secondary source material as I could, in an attempt to place 21st century American fascism and 1/6 in their proper context.

My suggestion to everyone: Become well-informed. You owe it to yourself and your country.

"Idiocracy" is not a claim that certain groups are "low IQ." It's best explained in the 2006 movie of the same name.

I know PhDs who fell for scams.

Scams like vaccine denial, for example. Like I intimated earlier, the pandemic alone has rocked everyone's world. Add an American fascism overlay and it's no wonder we have gotten to where we are now.

I will end with the tweet I've made a couple of dozen times since 1/6:

Today is January 6, 2022 and, since becoming President, Biden has not encouraged, enabled, planned, condoned, denied, or tried to cover up his admin's role in any terrorist attacks on the seat of the federal government.
