Firstly, no one deifies him, but respects him for the fact that he was a major reason for breaking shackles of Christian Imperialist.

17/n When it was Vijadashmi of 1926, #Netaji wrote to his brother expressing euphoria, "Today is Bijoya Dasami and throughout Bengal relations, friends and even enemies - children of the same Mother - will be soon embracing one another in fraternal love."

From the same source we find that in letter written to Dilip Roy, Netaji was indeed influenced by Dharma that MN Roy, Nehru found irrelevant.

24/n Dear @quizzicalguy , you need to note that #Netaji wrote this letter on September 20, 1940 asking for allowance to let perform Durga Puja in jail exactly with the tradition.

& questions y this can't be done if Christians & Muslims are given such allowances?

25/n @quizzicalguy , today too we resist Muslim appeasement. #Netaji did so in 1940. He had called out the Muslim appeasement of the Provincial Government of Bengal.

He does not hesitates to say that government is only moved by Muhammaden/ Muslim cause.

26/n What this also clears right away to us that #Netaji had no affinity with Fascism at all. He calls it out here and very rightly mentions British are way to high with Nazism in action.
