In my live @CTVNews interview today, I said that Canada can aid #Ukraine by promoting peaceful resolution of #ukrainerussia conflict. Economic sanctions won’t deter #Russia from using military force in Ukraine, & #Canadian military aid won’t have significant impact in such case.
I suggested to resolve #RussiaUkraine conflict peacefully via International agreement that offers #Ukraine EU membership prospects provided it would fulfill accession criteria, such as democracy, in exchange for no NATO membership & ending #Donbass war based on Minsk agreements.
I also said in my @CTVNews interview today that there is real danger that #ukrainerussia conflict would turn into armed conflict, such as deployment of #Russian troops in separatist-controlled #Donbas, armed conflict in Eastern & Southern #Ukraine or even #RussiaUkraine war.
