There's a lot of questions about #cassie, what is the significance, why is it cool, what does it demonstrate, how is it #web3. Even moreso since the #radflix demo dropped & the exposure it got on various socials etc so here is a thread...
Hopefully yall know by now that it is primarily a research network. It started as a collection of radical ideas around #consensus, #sharding, #blockchain and #cassie is the embodiment of those ideas to demonstrate viability. But it has now become so much more...
It is technology that can do things that were said to be impossible. Technology that can do things other L1 tech hasn't even dreamt of trying to do. It is a technology which is being used to show proof of potential on all the *hardest* things first...
Consensus is hard, security is hard, low latency #atomicity is hard, composability is hard. Then adding #sharding to provide throughput required to support a global user base of billions and value in the trillions is harder than flying using two umbrellas as wings...
But here we are, #cassie is doing these things. The hardest things first, there's a #twitter clone on #eth, there's an #instagram clone on #nano etc but none of them are doing it all at the same time processing terabytes of data per day...
Soon I'll start to add #dapps to demo all the normal stuff such as #NFT#dex#amm etc.
But it won't be normal, this is #cassie, intended to wreak chaos on 'normal' to push boundaries & open minds. A #dex on #cassie will make @SundaeSwap seem like people waving paper tickets...
In a trading pit from the days of old.
you could upload content, #NFT pieces of your vlog for auction, that earn revenue for you & your patrons, while at the same time swapping them like basketball cards for perks, or as ephemeral collateral for flash loans...
Using the floor price to value the loan, swapping the tokens loaned across multiple pools to take an arb.
All still while processing terabytes of activities & transactions from uncountable usecase of similar complexity & unimaginable utility...
The possibilities of technology that can do that are endless. #cassie is proof of life of that level of technology.
It might be a research network & toy tokens but it's also an elixir for dreams, so dream big!
If you got here maybe you're dreaming big but you're probably sceptical. That's OK, you can see for yourself at flexathon.net or if you'd rather an unstoppable domain ipns://fuserleer.eth

As far as I understand, these solutions are essentially two separate consensus mechanisms.
Probabilistic to perform state transitions, with deterministic to finalise the best version of the former.
It works & does the job required, so why is #cassandra different?
....
Think of a hybrid car. There is a petrol engine & electric motor working together to move the car.
They are 2 separate systems & are open loop, one way. The engine if needed can generate electricity for the motor, but the motor doesn't produce anything useful for the engine...
