I think China always opposes any kind of military confrontation, that's the reason why China's top diplomats are trying to deliver more messages to the international community that China will support any kind of diplomatic efforts to help ease the situation. -Dr. Cui Hongjian
Russia believes that the U.S. and NATO have not been sincere and taking Russia's request seriously. These requests are legally binding guarantees to not expand NATO, to remove the strike weapons, and to return to the 1997 Russia-NATO Founding Act. - @AKorybko
Saving lives has been our guiding principle in fighting pandemic. So that's why the government inputs a tremendous amount of resources and builds up infrastructure in dealing with the pandemic to save people's lives, reduce infection, and control severe cases.- Prof. Wu Zhiwei
It's an acknowledgment of the existing infrastructure of Beijing to host the largest-ever Winter Paralympics. Meantime, it's also a window to improve the accessibility in the city, not only for the Paralympians, but the general population as well. - CGTN Radio Reporter Yang Guang

We discussed #UkraineCrisis with CFAU Prof Qu Bo & Dr Vassily Kashin @HSE_eng, examined US JusticeDept ending Trump-era #ChinaInitiative with Prof Zhu Feng, and analysed China-Russia-US relations with researcher Zhou Bo at CISS @Tsinghua_Uni.
radio.cgtn.com/podcast/news/1…
I think the current situation is not just between Russia and Ukraine… the key is the power competition and geopolitical competition between the United States and Russia, I think this geopolitical competition manifested itself in the Ukraine issue. - Prof. Qu Bo
US is not going to fight for Ukraine… They will try to send as much weapons or provide financial support. But that's basically it. The Ukrainians were, in fact, abandoned from the very beginning. That's a big lesson for all of US partners and allies around the world. -Dr. Kashin

No one is walking out of this on-going military conflict in #Ukraine winning, except American weapons makers.

From Iraq to Afghanistan, every time the U.S. wages a war against another country, American weapons makers put a big tranche of America's spending in their own pockets. Image
Amid a stand-off with Russia, @politico reported that the U.S. government started to send weapons to Ukraine as early as last August in the amount of 60 million U.S. dollars. #UkraineRussiaCrisis
Reuters @Reuters reported in late January on the arrival of a package of U.S. weapons, along with "lethal security assistance", totaling 200 million U.S. dollars, in the Ukrainian capital. #Kiev #Donbass

We discuss #UkraineCrisis with Pavel Felgenhauer, analyse Australia’s provocative plan in Antarctic with Prof Chen Hong @ECNUER, examine #IranNuclearTalks with Prof @gregjamesbarton & look at child-raising in China with @BJRliuyunyun.
radio.cgtn.com/podcast/news/1…
Australia's claim that it owns 42% of Antarctic has never been recognised by UN. UN does not recognise or acknowledge any claim of land on Antarctic to be owned by a single country. Rather, it’s owned by humanity at large. So Australia's claim is not legitimate. -Prof. Chen Hong
There're criticisms against Scott Morrison’s over-allocating budgets on Antarctic. Intended to deter China's regional presence, Australia's plan to spend as much as 800M on Antarctic is politically motivated, as the value injected onto this land is simply not worth it.-Prof. Chen

Australian Prime Minister @ScottMorrisonMP made the judgment that #China does not “share the same objectives as Australia does” in #Antarctica .
If he meant the objective of creating harmful political tension among parties or countries conducting scientific exploration on the continent, then he is right---#China does not intend to do that.
In 1984 when China sent its first fleet of science experts to the #Antarctica , Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping set out China’s mission as “to contribute to humanity’s peaceful use of Antarctica”, the principles of which #China has adhered to over the years.

The quickly unfolding situation in #Ukraine demonstrates the apparent diplomatic failure of the EU, whose strategic autonomy has shattered in the face of reality. #UkraineRussiaCrisis Image
Russia's recent move of recognizing "the Luhansk People's Republic" and "the Donetsk People's Republic" as independent and sovereign states means major EU countries have failed in their shuttle diplomacy to create channels for peace talks between #Washington and #Moscow .
Brussels is certainly aware that its interests are not totally in line with #Washington 's.

Still, it appears that other than surrendering to the overriding dominance of Washington, #Brussels does not have much say in the #Ukraine crisis.

Recent developments over the #Russia -#Ukraine border are worrying and NATO’s open-to-dialogue attitude is certainly a good sign and should be welcomed.
If the current tension between #NATO and Russia is not de-escalated and veer into dangerous conflicts, Ukraine will be among the first to suffer. And no one on either side will win.
Russia previously made clear of its position on the issue of Ukraine for a few times, including in the #Putin-#Biden video meeting earlier this month, during which Putin sought for legal guarantees from Biden that NATO will not expand further in the eastern direction.
