No one is walking out of this on-going military conflict in #Ukraine winning, except American weapons makers.
From Iraq to Afghanistan, every time the U.S. wages a war against another country, American weapons makers put a big tranche of America's spending in their own pockets.
Amid a stand-off with Russia, @politico reported that the U.S. government started to send weapons to Ukraine as early as last August in the amount of 60 million U.S. dollars. #UkraineRussiaCrisis

Australia's claim that it owns 42% of Antarctic has never been recognised by UN. UN does not recognise or acknowledge any claim of land on Antarctic to be owned by a single country. Rather, it’s owned by humanity at large. So Australia's claim is not legitimate. -Prof. Chen Hong

Australian Prime Minister @ScottMorrisonMP made the judgment that #China does not “share the same objectives as Australia does” in #Antarctica .
If he meant the objective of creating harmful political tension among parties or countries conducting scientific exploration on the continent, then he is right---#China does not intend to do that.

The quickly unfolding situation in #Ukraine demonstrates the apparent diplomatic failure of the EU, whose strategic autonomy has shattered in the face of reality. #UkraineRussiaCrisis
Russia's recent move of recognizing "the Luhansk People's Republic" and "the Donetsk People's Republic" as independent and sovereign states means major EU countries have failed in their shuttle diplomacy to create channels for peace talks between #Washington and #Moscow .

Recent developments over the #Russia -#Ukraine border are worrying and NATO’s open-to-dialogue attitude is certainly a good sign and should be welcomed.
If the current tension between #NATO and Russia is not de-escalated and veer into dangerous conflicts, Ukraine will be among the first to suffer. And no one on either side will win.

A U.S. drone strike killed 10 Afghan civilians, incl 7 CHILDREN.
What's horrendous is that the perpetrator admits the crime yet proclaims its innocence to the world in the manner of a judge.
What's more horrendous is that there's nothing the world can do about it.
The 20-year U.S. war in #Afghanistan killed 47,245 Afghan civilians. Up to 69,000 Afghan soldiers and police who had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks were killed as well. More than 10 million people were displaced. The war has left the country devastated and impoverished.

@JoeBiden administration's approach to Russia appears to be a combination of “contain” and “engage”.
In a phone call with Putin on Tuesday, Biden proposed a summit to find areas where the US and Russia could cooperate.
Just two days later, however, Washington slapped Moscow with new sanctions over alleged hacking and meddling in the US 2020 election.
But meanwhile, the White House has said it doesn’t have solid intelligence that Russia had offered bounties to the Taliban for killing US troops.
