#Zelensky not accepting the Russian ultimatum in #Mariupol tells me that he wants to get rid of the Azov fighters, as much as possible, while lionizing them and making their dead heroes of #Ukraine.
Why would #Zelensky sacrifice what is believed to be his best and most motivated fighters in #Mariupol?
Could be he can't bring them back, could be lack of coordination, could be #Zelensky is not controlling anything in #Ukraine right now, could be he expects unlimited supply of fighters and weapons from West, could be that he can get rid of them, or all of this at the same time...
However, what this shows is that as #Zelensky and his western backers are betting on a long war, as in #Syria, they are not that preoccupied with strategy or peace right now, but only by upsetting #Russia's plans.
But we know what happened in #Syria: a determined coalition of forces methodically defeated a multitude of groups awash in external support, funding & weapons.
The same scenario is likely to happen in #Ukraine where the #US and #NATO are just happy to have as their only goal to upset #Russia's plans. Meanwhile Ukraine and its people pay the price...
I also believe that every country surrounding #Ukraine will have territorial claims. #Ukraine, de facto, no longer exists. Unless #Zelensky does the sensible thing to accept Russia's terms of surrender, which he won't.
