SC shifts #Gyanvapi case from the civil judge court to the higher District Judge Court of #Varanasi. Says the complexities of the case require a "senior and experienced official", reports @kdrajagopal
SC directs #Varanasi District Judge to decide mosque caretaker's plea under Order 7 Rule 11 CPC (asking the Hindu women who have filed the suit to show a cause of action or legal injury) to be decided on priority.
Meanwhile the SC's May 17 order securing the area of the reported 'Shivling' and giving Muslims access to offer namaaz in the mosque to remain operational.
The apex court also directed #Varanasi District Judge to decide mosque caretaker's plea under Order 7 Rule 11 CPC (asking the Hindu women who have filed the suit to show a cause of action or legal injury) to be decided on priority.

FM #NirmalaSitharaman announces a slew of measures to curb inflation, citing PM #NarendraModi's commitment to help the poor and common man, including a Rs.8 reduction in central excise duty per litre of #petrol and a Rs.6 cut in the duty on #diesel, reports @tragicosmicomic
She exhorted all States, especially those that had not cut State levies when central #taxes on #fuel products were cut the last time in November 2021, to implement a similar cut and give relief to the common man.
A subsidy of Rs. 200 per gas cylinder for upto 12 cylinders a year, will be granted to over 9 crore beneficiaries of the PM Ujwala Yojana.

Just in | #Inflation in India's wholesale prices hit a 4 month high of 14.55% in March, from 13.11% in February, driven by accelerating price rise across all categories of goods, with fuel and power as well as primary articles driving most of the gains., reports @tragicosmicomic
While the wholesale food prices index inched up marginally from 8.47% in February to 8.71% in March, manufactured products inflation moved up from 9.84% to 10.71%. However, the month-on-month change in the index for manufactured goods was sharper at 2.31%.
Fuel and power inflation surged to 34.52% in March, compared to 31.5% in February, while inflation in primary articles accelerated from 13.39% to 15.54%.
