The tax-avoiding Tory-supporting billionaire-owned Mail ALWAYS blames the poor.

While the top 10% of earners pay 53% of all INCOME tax (£208bn of £393bn), the HMRC collected £714.8bn in taxes in 2021/22, & the UK's top 10% own 43% of ALL wealth, the bottom 50% just 9%.
A better way to 'get tough on welfare spending' would be to get tough on the CAUSES of welfare spending. 75% of working-age benefits are spent on: income top-ups for low-paid workers; benefits to help pay rent; & disability, sickness & incapacity benefits.
You wouldn't know it from the billionaire-owned "news" media, but the UK Govt spends significantly LESS than the EU average on economic affairs, education, general public services, recreation facilities, & public protection.

The UK is now one of THE most unequal OECD societies.
In the UK, the wealth of the top 1% of households is more than 230 times that of the poorest 10%.

Since 2009, the collective wealth of Britain's already wealthy richest 1,000 individuals has increased by HALF A TRILLION POUNDS, while our #NHS has been systematically destroyed.
A typical nurse would have to work “over 20,000 years” in order to match Sunak’s vast wealth.

"Rather than announce a new wave of cuts and #austerity, wouldn’t it be fairer for the prime minister to introduce wealth taxes on the very richest in our society?" - Richard Burgon.
Income inequality in US & UK is so wide that while the richest are VERY rich, the poorest have a worse standard of living than the poorest in countries like Slovenia.

Globally, just TEN individuals have as much wealth as earth's poorest 3 BILLION people.

A tax of just 5% on the world’s multimillionaires & billionaires could raise $1.7 TRILLION (an almost unimaginable amount) a year - enough to lift TWO BILLION people out of poverty, & fund a global plan to end hunger.

The multiple crises that billions of people face today, including the #CostOfLivingCrisis & the #ClimateCrisis, all have one root cause: GREED.

The richest global 1% pocketed two-thirds of ALL new wealth ($26 TRILLION) created since the pandemic began.

The solution? #TaxTheRich
The "general recipe for creating highly satisfied citizens: ensure that state institutions are of high quality, non-corrupt, able to deliver what they promise, & generous in taking care of citizens in various adversities".

The opposite of Britain then.🇬🇧

Oh dear. While the WEF has issues, the more unhinged Great Reset conspiracy theorists (who Brand encourages) say the global elite plans to instate a COMMUNIST world order by ABOLISHING private property & using #COVID19 to solve overpopulation & ENSLAVE HUMANITY with vaccines! 🧐
Despite repeated & relentless #misinformation being shared online about the "Great Reset”, the *sustainability plan* proposed by the World Economic Forum is not a secret plot to end private property, nor to create a totalitarian state.

Some practical advice, supported by solid peer-reviewed evidence of the kind that conspiracy theorists instantly reject, on how to talk to conspiracy theorists:

‘The man who hated Britain’: the discursive construction of ‘national unity’ in the Daily Mail - an article by Karin Stoegner & Ruth Wodak.

In 2013, the Mail triggered controversy with a story about Ralph Miliband: ‘The man who hated Britain’.

tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…
In April 2015, a couple of weeks before the general elections in the UK on 7 May, Gulzab-een Afsar, a Tory candidate for Derby, posted on Facebook that she ‘can’t take Mr. Ed Miliband seriously!!’
In response to the comment that she should show ‘some respect for the future PM’, she posted that she would ‘never ever drop that low to support the Al Yahud! Lol'.

“To date, CDC has not detected ANY unusual or unexpected patterns for deaths following immunization that would indicate that COVID vaccines are causing or contributing to deaths,” a CDC spokesperson told Reuters.

“Statements that imply that reports of deaths following vaccination equate to deaths caused by vaccination are scientifically inaccurate, misleading, and irresponsible.”

People’s first instinct when engaging with conspiracy theorists is often to try and debunk their ideas with factual and authoritative information. However, direct confrontation rarely works...

theconversation.com/how-to-talk-to…
Conspiracy theories are persuasive, often playing on people’s feelings and sense of identity. Even if debunking conspiracy theories was effective, it’s difficult to keep up with how quickly they appear and how widespread they travel.

A study showed that during 2015 and 2016, the number of propagators of Zika virus conspiracy theories on Twitter twice outnumbered debunkers.

20-yr-old Greta Thunberg surrounded by far-right shit-stirring #ClimateCrisis-denying dimwits, including GB "News" fake-vicar Calvin Robinson, & Rebel "News" Ezra Levant & British actor Callum Smiles asking infantile bad faith questions, responds with calm & occasional laughter.
In case you don't know, Rebel "News" is a divisive Canadian far-right misinformation platform founded by Ezra Levant. In two legal rulings, judges said of Levant he has a "reckless disregard for the truth". Gavin McInnes, founder of the neofascist Proud Boys, was a contributor.
Levant promotes #climatechange denial & advocated the interests of Oil Sands in Alberta, & in an article for Canada's National Observer, Max Fawcett named Rebel Media as one of the groups undermining "the scientific consensus around climate change & vaccines".
