1/ For starters, there are no layer 1 transaction fees for either minting or moving assets/NFTs. This makes it more accessible and cost-effective for creators and users.
2/ ShimmerEVM uses a random order consensus to confirm transactions, which prevents sandwich/front/back running MEV attacks on Dexes. This ensures a more secure and fair trading environment.
3/ there's a large established community that has yet to have the opportunity to adopt web3 applications on an IOTA network. With ShimmerEVM, this opens up new opportunities for them.
4/ Shimmer layer 1 allows for the launch of new smart contract chains that offer more efficient languages or features in the future. This means it's future proof and the possibilities for innovation and growth are endless.
5/ Lastly, higher security and efficiency of transferring assets between chains on top of layer 1. We won't need to rely on either third party centralised or decentralised bridges as the security will be provided by the Layer 1 DAG.
With these USPs, we are optimistic that we can start to unlock more of the potential of #Web3. Which offers advantages if deployed correctly over its Web2 cousins. We’ve only just started to scratch to the surface of what is possible.
Be sure to follow me if you want to learn more about the #IOTA#Shimmer web3 ecosystem which I'm eagerly anticipating launched in the future.

Who's worried that #SMR and #ASMB might dilute the value of #IOTA? I'm certainly not and here's why. Time for another 🧵👇
I believe #SMR and #ASMB provide a lot of additional utility to #IOTA. There's a lot of synergies to the tokens and together they're much stronger. Let's take a closer look at IOTAs utility:
1. IOTA must be held on firefly to receive the #SMR and #ASMB tokens. I anticipate these two airdroped tokens will become very valuable in the future. VCs have committed over $100m for just 10% of #ASMBs supply and it's likely Huobi will list these with other exchanges to follow
Maximum Extractable value (MEV) Is the ability for miners or validators to extract the max amount of value from each block by including, excluding and changing the order (queue) of transactions. Let's take a closer look at MEV in this🧵and how #IOTA is solving this issue #DeFi👇
MEV has a significant impact on #DeFi users, according to data from explore.flashbots.net MEV has cost users $747m from 01/01/20 to date and that is only tracking #ETH and certain #Dapps, the true cost is much higher when including flash loan attacks and other chains #BSC#SOL
But what are these attacks?
Sandwich attacks: ordering a transaction before and after a transaction on a Dex. This has the effect of either inc or dec the price on an order, which for large transactions or high slippage can run into $1,000s in lost value for the user ☹️

2/9 What do all major smart contract platforms and their native token have in common leading up to and immediately after the launch of their smart contract system?
3/9 Price appreciation, all major L1/L2 solutions have had significant run ups in price prior to and after launching successful smart contracts, well over and above market trends. See Solana's recent SC launch price appreciation below....
