Day 388 of the war. The day after the International Criminal Court indicted Putin with a war crime.
Welcome to Saturday's thread with all the news concerning #Ukraine's defence against #Russia's aggression & invasion.
Updated throughout the day so come back and check regularly!
Well Friday was an historic day as the current President of a permanent member of the UN Security Council was charged with a war crime. It will be the first of many.

There was also danger for the inhabitants of #Zaporizhzhia (RU: #Zaporozhe), but not from drones.
#Russia fired S-300 anti-aircraft missiles on the city, with two explosions from reports I've seen with the latest one being shortly after 03:00
No initial reports of damage yet.
The historic St Peter and Paul Orthodox Church is on fire. Situated quite near the centre, just outside the Garden Ring, it was reputedly designed by Peter The Great.
Thank you Sarah E for buying me a couple of coffees through the link on my profile page.
It takes a lot of work compiling these threads every day and I really appreciate any support 💙💛
This is the scene in #Zaporizhzhia where, as I reported earlier in the thread, #Russia struck with S-300 missiles.
A small cafe took the force of the hit, in a residential area. Most nearby apartments had their windows blown out.
Remarkably no one was injured.
880* invading soldiers from #Russia died in #Ukraine in the last 24 hours.
The Kremlin's total number of dead in the war may hit 165,000 tomorrow. It was just 16 days ago that the total reached 150k
Britain's Intel update today concentrates on #Russia's ability to call up new troops.
The change in conscript age may seem like no change with the same 10-year band. But it gives access all at once to all those who were 17, 18, 19 and 20 last year.
Debra Cohen has supported my work! Thanks for gifting me a coffee💙💛

More defensive anti-tank measures have appeared on occupied #Crimea.
The "Dragon's Teeth" here are on the Ak-Monaisky according to "Krym Realii", between the villages of Batalna and Primorsk.
A 77 year old man from #Perm' has been fined by a court in #Russia.
Recently he held a legal one-man protest. His placard said "Mr. Makhonin, I demand the completion of the SVO (war)." (Dmitry Makhonin is governor of Perm)
Viktor Gilin was found guilty of discrediting the army.
#BakhmutHolds
No real change in positions around the town in #Donetsk. However, #Russia has made some ground south-west of Bakhmut, towards #Ivanivske.
This continues the invaders' attempts to cut off #Ukraine troops defending the town.
A few more details are dribbling out from authorities in #Lviv following the drone strikes last night.
Governor Maksym Kozytskyi confirms 3 UAVs hit "non-residential buildings in Yavorivskyi district" near the border with Poland.
No casualties but no further details.
A weekend video postcard from #Vuhledar (RY: #Ugledar), which #Russia has been trying to capture for months.
On the final day of the old agreement, a new agreement for the grain deal has been reached, and it's for 120 days, which #Russia initially objected to.
1/2 Bunker Boy emerged from the Kremlin yesterday, turning up in #Crimea, which he likes to do to celebrate anniversaries of the capture.
Putin also survived a trip to occupied #Mariupol', where he allegedly met with locals, but on footage I saw it was all officials.
2/2 What I find interesting is how the Kremlin tried to make out #Putin had driven to #Crimea, and again today they're at pains to show footage of him "driving around #Mariupol."
I believe this shows there's serious concern in Moscow about his health, so he must prove he's fit.
While #Russia is stalling over agreeing to a 120 day extension of the grain deal, the Terrorist State is secretly stealing Ukrainian grain and exporting it from #Crimea according to the RIAMelitopol channel.
They publish these photos they claim show Occupiers loading the grain.
The figures for #Russia's daily losses again show a very big number of artillery systems destroyed by #Ukraine, plus another helicopter downed.
RU soldiers killed is down almost 300 on yesterday but still a very, very high number. #RussiansGoHome
This is the start of the daily 🧵for Day 386 of #Russia's war of choice in #Ukraine.
For all Wednesday's news, including US pilots volunteering for Ukraine, assassination plot against an EU figure and an unexplained fire on occupied #Berdyansk, click⬇️
I'll start today with #BakhmutHolds.
No big changes to report. #Wagner troops have advanced right into the centre, but it's constantly changing as the cattle get slaughtered and retreat.
Speaking of slaughter of Russians, the number of invading soldiers killed in the last 24 hours tops 1,000 again. A large number of #Russia's troops died in an attack at #Nevelske 20km from #Avdiivka
High numbers of tanks + artillery systems too, plus the aircraft I noted y'day.
It's Wednesday, Day 385 of the war, #Ukraine's existential fight for its' existence.
Here's another daily thread documenting #Russia's ongoing invasion, war crimes and all the news, all the time, updated throughout the day.
If you can support my work, see the link in my bio💙💛
There was a lot of important news on Tuesday.
More awful shelling and missiles fired at #Ukraine citizens. An American drone downed by #Russia's air force, a car bomb attack in occupied #Melitopol and a new #Wagner cemetery.
Firstly reports of explosions in #Sloviansk - probably we will get more details in the morning.
But, while #Bakhmut holds, #Russia is creeping closer to Sloviansk and #Kramatorsk. Confirmed that the invaders have taken the village of #Zaliznyanske, north-west of Bakhmut.
Welcome to another daily thread for Day 384 of #Russia's illegal war on #Ukraine.
In yesterday's thread we heard that the ICC is planning on bringing two war crimes charges against the Kremlin.
If you want to review anything from Monday, it's all here⬇️
It's a wet and windy start to the week where I am, hope it's better where you are.
In #Kyiv + #Bakhmut it's around freezing now (9am) but some very mild days and nights mean a lot of mud on the frontlines later in the week in #Ukraine
I know a lot of people miss things at the weekend.
But you can get a quick catch up of all that happened in #Ukraine yesterday by taking a scroll through the previous thread, and I would urge you to do so, some important news and events in there:
1/2 One thing from yesterday I do want to flag up is this story and what will hopefully become a concerted effort to ban athletes from #Russia from the Olympic Games.
