Remember the case against @BAPS Hindu temple in 2021 that alleged "caste discrimination"?
#JUSTIN: A dozen artisans claim coercion, promise of US citizenship and large sums of money to testify against BAPS, are withdrawing the case.
In May 2021, a @nytimes article by @anniecorreal claimed "Hindu Sect Is Accused of Using Forced Labor to Build N.J. Temple" and that @BAPS "had exploited possibly hundreds of low-caste men in the yearslong construction project."
Two years later, this turned out to be a complete fabrication of events & attempt to defame the Hindu community.
In a letter filed July 13 in the Rajasthan High Court, the artisans stated that they were "pressured to join as plaintiffs in a civil complain in New Jersey court."
Workers were deliberately coerced, misled
"These artisans have made strong claims that Swati Sawant [Their lawyer] and her companions impressed upon them and misled them, using false temptations, to make a complaint against the temple management."
As we have repeatedly stated that we stand against any and all forms of discrimination.
We equally stand against falsifications of extremely serious allegations with the sole purpose of claiming Hindus are "casteists" and "oppressive."
In fact, @BAPS was nothing but kind to the artisans...
As per press release, "In all this time, they have never experienced any pressure, any casteism or discrimination at BAPS temples...they were treated with love and respect...and were well taken care of."
Swati Sawant, representing the artisans, repeatedly intimidated, threatened them should they tell the truth. "...were too afraid to tell the truth because they were warned that Swati Sawant and some of their own fellow artisans would report them to the American police..."
Swati Sawant, encouraged them to falsify allegations, with promises of U.S. citizenship & money.
"Swati Sawant also convinced them to make false allegations in court, tempting them with promises of American citizenship for them and their families, and huge amounts of money."
This latest development should ring alarm bells to all law enforcement agencies, lawmakers and the Hindu community on how our religious and civil rights are being violated by agenda driven activists and their paymasters to target the Hindu community and its collective progress.
Bills such as #SB403, the caste law in @CityofSeattle by @cmkshama and several policies by @Harvard @calstate @BrownUniversity and others have heavily relied on this false case and allegations to show "caste discrimination." Will they now repeal these?
This is how #Hinduphobia is created and amplified to target and malign Hinduism and Hindus. Those who deny that Hinduphobia exists may want to think again.

#BREAKING: 🧵A day of mixed emotions for the CoHNA family today. We are disappointed that CA lawmakers passed up a chance to #SayNoToHate and voted for a bill that still contains the #Hinduphobic word “caste.” Yet, we are also proud of the tireless grassroots work of our...1/n
...volunteers, other Hindu orgs and allies, which resulted in the CA Assembly Judiciary Committee voting on a bill that has been stripped of much of the outright xenophobic language of the original version. UNFORTUNATELY, the final nail in the coffin still remains...2/n
...and we intend to fully fight this all the way to the courts. No one said that this was going to be easy. 😀. BUT, let’s review how far we have come. 3/n
Disappointed to see @theJagmeetSingh conflate the Nazi #Hakenkreuz with the sacred #Swastika, perpetuating a colonial lie that demonises Hinduism. This is painful, especially given his Dharmik heritage.
The Swastika can be found in and around Gurdwaras in India.

What is more disappointing is that this isn’t the first time the NDP leader has helped in furthering this misinformation, which was promptly refuted by CoHNA.
#BREAKING: In a historic move, Georgia legislature passes the first ever County Resolution condemning #Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry! The resolution recognized the contributions of Indian Americans and Hindu Americans in Georgia and 1/n
The legislative delegation of Forsyth County in the suburbs of Atlanta, home to one of the largest Hindu American and Indian American diaspora communities, made the effort to recognize #Hinduphobia and call for an end to anti-Hindu hate. 3/n
#BREAKING: In a huge victory for those of us who opposed the original motion as biased, the @tdsb has amended the motion to bring the @onthumanrights as a neutral observer to study & assess the issue and not hand off the process to some agenda driven activists! Happy Holi! 1/n👏🏾
The amended motion passed with five dissenters and one abstention. Thanks to the powerful words of Trustee Patel: "@SADAN_Canada could not provide a single instance of documented caste oppression." That's why he voted NO. 2/n
Several trustees voting yes exhibited magical thinking by saying: just because you don't see it doesn't mean it is not there. #NEWSFLASH: that is not how we do science. We test hypothesis with real data before concluding it is there! 3/n
The latest victim of the growing hate for all things related to #Dharmic faiths. After attacking or co-opting all number of #Hindu traditions, it's now the turn of a micro-minority : the #Jain faith and being #vegetarian in general. SouthAsian vegetarians be warned! 1/n #Caste
During the public comments section of the @SeattleCouncil meeting on 2/14, supporters of the proposed #Caste ordinance turned their ire on the "militant vegetarianism" of #Jains. Hear the sound byte to understand the outright hate being mainstreamed!
