#NEET Some may remember my tweet chain on Sep 1st, immediately upon hearing of the death of Anitha. I was enraged by the colossal failure 1/
Failure driven by incompetence & the lack of compassion when making political decisions, which I saw as main reasons for her death 2/
Sounder judgement would've constrained me from self-righteous rant. Self-righteousness is unbecoming of anyone, & politicians most of all 3/
When I got over my immediate anger & frustration, I resolved to channel my energy into positive actions to limit #NEET damage as antidote 4/
I realized massive scale of problems with Dual-Nativity, & decided to analyze the problem fully, with help/inputs from many kind advisers 6/
100s of seats potentially taken by non-TN HS graduates via Deal-Nativity, this was salt in #NEET wounds. Relatively affluent/mobile gain 7/
As always, less affluent/mobile lose. Decided to go to court to stop this insult-after-injury #NEET implementation by challenging TN GO 8/
Grace of excellent legal team, full support of @mkstalin, + my own team in Madurai helped us overcome many hurdles to admission of Writ 9/
Grateful that learned judges on bench saw fit to provide immediate relief now via stay on any new medical admissions under current GO 10/
This is first of few steps still to come, as main Writ still to be argued, then decided. But stay makes timely resolution more likely 11/
Unlike my writ against suspension from TN Assembly in Aug '16 (while I was not even present in the house 🤣🤣) which is still "in process" 12/
Rest assured, I will pursue this to logical and just outcome which ensures that TN students don't lose out to #NEET "forum-shoppers" 13/
Incidentally, this is nationwide problem not just TN. Current #NEET method is riddled w/ flaws that create potential for failure/abuse 14/
As with other programs (e.g. Demonetization, GST), poor implementation makes a not-fully-thought-out idea's impact on society much worse 15/
