This is not why @jemelehill was suspended and that's not even what she did.
What she did was thoughtfully answer fans who said that Dak & Dez needed to step up vs. Jerry Jones, kneel & dare him to suspend them (2/?)
She said - and look at the tweet yourself - that fans are accountable in this. You can't drag Dak, Dez while still buying Cowboys merch etc
It's an important comment that's been absent from convo: fan accountability especially for those who want players to take risks for change
What she did was RT someone who listed @Cowboys sponsors and that - we can guess - scared the hell out of Jerry and his people got on phone
She never called for boycott. @TwitterMoments is misinforming people by implying that is the case. She was suspended for deepening the convo
This should piss every journalist at @ESPN off because this wasn't calling Trump a "white supremacist" or any kind of attack on anyone.
It was journalism. Shame on ESPN. Fortuitous that you hired Katie Nolan last week because this is truly garbage time for the #WWL.
And it can't just be Black journalists at ESPN who stand with her this time. EVERYone from @willcain on should be outraged by this.
It's about the freedom to do your job, advance discussions & talk seriously about the issues. This is a crackdown from the White House down.
We can beat back their efforts to silence critics, but not without solidarity. That goes for NFL players, journalists, fans, all of us. Done
