#NaNoWriMo2017 struggles: Two days ago was a good writing day.
Yesterday was not a good day, but it felt like it could have been.
Now it is hard to find the resolve to get back in the fight.
I'm attached to the thrill of success,
but afraid of the dread of failure. #WritersLife
#WriteWhatYouKnow -- my first line this morning:
The world is cold, but the bed is warm. For the third time Lukas stretched with half an intention to get out of bed only to roll over and cuddle back into his blankets.
He could feel the familiar tendrils of depression reaching up into his brain tugging at his will, pulling him down. He though, just get up, you can do this. He felt better, yet his body didn’t respond.
The affirmation, rehearsed to the point of impotence, curdled in his mind and reformed as a question. "Can I do this?"
His face drooped. "Can I?"
Lex was no stranger to mornings that began this way, but SIST would jump in with its cognitive behavior scripts and pretty soon he would be up an functional again. Now he was on his own. He couldn’t remember the last time he felt this alone.
