Here, Jonathan Tasini claims the GOP is gaslighting America, making Americans think they're the crazy ones; this, as Wictor is stating, is implying that the GOP is trying to drive Tasini crazy and say horrible things about trainwrecks.
This is the same kind of excuse you'll see if the hashtag #huntrepublicans is brought up, you know the one that was coined after a Berniebro walked up to a congressional Republicans' baseball practice and opened fire, wounding Scalise in the hip.

One of the key aspects of gaslighting is rejecting and twisting reality until you convince the victim that your reality is the correct one. The reality where its not you who's crazy, who's racist, who's evil, its the victim who is all those things, you just put up with it
Schiff and Feinstein and other Democrats proclaimed that #releasethememo was a hashtag pushed by Russian bots. Several real had their accounts suspended demanding they verify as a result. But twitter said overall, it wasn't Russian bots pushing the hashtag.

When presented with evidence to the contrary, they double down and demand that THEIR version of reality is correct. They call Trump racist, and when he states in his SOTU that the black and hispanic unemployment rates are at historic lows they boo and hiss and call him racist.
