/ There is this website which supports BJP and calls itself The True Picture. Some time back, I have pointed out how these guys are misleading the readers with half baked information to drive their point.
/ I don’t follow them. So not clearly aware how often they do this. Like last time, this time also someone send this 👇🏼 link on DM. When opened, it was really interesting.
thetruepicture.in/whats-state-la…
/ Here too, they are resorting to the same old tactics - use selective data to drive home their points. The topic is really an interesting one “Karnataka - Law and Order over the Years”. It is more interesting now because election is just a month away.
/ To show Law & Order in Karnataka is very bad, the propagandists show NCRB data of Total Cognizable offence from 2011 to 2016 in Karnataka
/ There is a catch here. This guys are not comparing a Karnataka with any other state. But, Karnataka being a state ruled by INC, they should compare it with BJP ruled states for a better understanding
/ Lets compare Karnataka with MP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Gujarat. We are taking data from 2012 to 2016. In 2013 & 14, MH was under Congress rule which changed in 2015. Rajasthan came under BJP rule since Dec 2013. MP & Gujarat are under BJP since ages
/ BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh is the topper all these years. Of late, Devendra Fadnavis is in close competition with Shivraj Chauhan. Vasundhara Raje is not far behind. Difference between Gujarat and Karnataka is 1280 cases.
/ But if one looks at the percentage wise yearly growth in these numbers between Karnataka and Gujarat, crimes in Gujarat is growing much faster. For example, from 2015 to 2016, Gujarat’s Cognizable crimes increased by 15.9% while in Karnataka it was 6.88%
/ Now let us look at Cognizable crimes registered under Special & Local Laws in each of these states. Results are very interesting. When compared with Karnataka, Gujarat has registered a whopping 827.69% more crimes under SLL in 2016
/ Here is the Total number of Cognizable offences registered under both IPC and Special & Local Laws since 2013 in each of these 5 states. Do we need more proof to point out law and order in BJP ruled states are worst in India?
/ Selective use of data can hide the reality and mislead the people. That is the basic idea of websites like The True Picture. I wonder, did they ever shown any true picture? It is an irony that this website has such a name.
/ In this thread we have to add two more categories which were mentioned by The False Picture. A simple look at the screen shot will tell u, this has been created to highlight the numbers of Karnataka. But the fact is different
/ Unlike these idiots, lets take the data of a longer period - from 2010 to 2016 and we will take the same set of states.
Look at the numbers below. Rajastan and MP top the list.
There are more to it.
/ Best example is Rajasthan. In 2010 and 2011, Rajasthan was the best state here in this group. One year before assembly elections the scene started to change. Hindutva caught up. From 90 cases in 2011, it went up to 5559 cases and 6475 in 2013.
/ 2013 December, BJP came to power in Rajasthan and in 2014 May in India. Look at the numbers once again to what RSS does to Dalits when BJP assumed power both at centre and state almost around the same time.
/ See the pattern in Maharashtra. Number of cases brought down from 3373 in 2010 to 1763 in in 2014. But after BJP assumed power in state, it slightly went up. This year’s data release will give us a better understanding on that.
/ The important point here is, from the runup to general election in 2014 - started from 2012 when BJP and RSS started to get aggressive - the atrocities against Dalits and scheduled Tribes went up drastically across the states.
/ And these spike in numbers are stark in BJP ruled states or in states where BJP is in alliance with the ruling dispensation.
Publishing 1/10 of truth in a website and calling it The True Picture is the handiwork of RW idiots who live in fools’ paradise
