1/ The voice of 150+ million people in East Africa is being actively censored by @Twitter. Over the past yr prominent voices have been deplatformed & many others shadow banned. Twitter even went to the extent of banning the trending section for the region! 2/ The global digital town square you envision @Twitter has been a distant dream for us. Twitter has been actively discouraging plurality of thought in the region by suppressing one narrative while promoting another, aligned with interests of certain powerful countries.

1/ Militarily, TPLF looks finished; at least as a conventional fighting force. At least for the time being. Its ranks decimated, its fighters demoralized and its popular support at an all time low. 2/ In reality, #TPLF has nothing in its hands to bargain with, other than the threat of future insurgency. At this point in time, the only bargaining chip it has is the support of the USG.

1/ Mrs. Blanchard tries to defend the #IHRCEE report by saying 'it is not inconsistent' with the JIT report. This is provably false. 2/ Unlike the more comprehensive report of the JIT, the #IHRCEE depended on remote interviews, focused only on three incidents and two thematic areas and completely ignored Afar! And yet managed to arrive at more sweeping conclusions. This is as substandard as you could get!

It is extremely striking how Murungi's tweets were predictive of the #IHRCEE's most recent statements 2/ Here is Mrs. Murungi calling for R2P in April 2021 long before her appointment to the Commission. Put her tweet side by side with the #IHRCEE statement from Sept 7 urging the UNSC to "take action" and how much her bias affected the Commission becomes glaringly obvious.

We (@Qnie_Addis & @Kings_of_Nile) analysed his tweets, RTs & likes starting from Oct 2021. Given his pronouncements, what we found was quite revealing. 2/ When you pay close attention to his Twitter activity, despite his protestations, #Tigray predominate his TL. He sometimes tweets, RTs or likes up to 8 Tigray related tweets per day! He has tweeted, RTd or liked tweets mentioning Tigray 208 times over the past 23 months!

1/ TPLF is facing serious setbacks in the battlefield, despite rearmmamanet and logistical support from Egypt and the UN. The Americans are convinced the only way to keep #TPLF viable is to bring them to the negotiation table. 2/ The US and probably EU have strong armed the AU to be included in the negotiation in some capacity; to make sure TPLF gets a better deal than it deserves based on it's current military standing.

To War, or Not to Be: Why #TPLF will ALWAYS choose war

1/TPLF backed by formidable western allies failed to deliver Addis and apparently lost their unqualified support. With thousands sacrificed with nothing show in return, TPLF is stuck between a rock & a hard place. 2/ TPLF knows it can only survive if there is active conflict. Without war keeping the populace in a state of near constant fear and paranoia will be nigh impossible. This makes the prospect of ordinary Tigrayans showing their discontent, a very real possibility.

1/ Between 1970-73, the UK & US vetoed 5 resolutions against white minority dictatorship in S. Rhodesia. The proceedings of the UNSC meeting are eerily reminiscent of our current situation. 2/ In 1972, OAU held a meeting in Addis opened by HIM Hailesselassie to strategize further with regard to the situation in S. Rhodesia & the role of the UN. In 1973, a UNSC resolution was tabled by Kenya & Guinea calling for action against the illegal white minority gov't of SR.

1/ This letter is not addressed to Ethiopians. Eleni is clearly more distressed about the prospect of losing her job than the prospect of being tried for treason. 1/Admiral Stavridisj, the man who led the NATO Alliance from 2009 to 2013 as Supreme Allied Commander with responsibility for Afghanistan, Libya, the Balkans, Syria is calling for apparent US intervention in #Ethiopia. 2/ It appears the Admiral took the wrong lessons from this list of abject failures of US interventionalism. The Syrian crisis led to the resurgence of ISIS, Libya became a slave market and Afghanistan is in the hands of the Taliban. Impressive!

1/This was a fascinating watch, as the interview went on @BeckyCNN got more and more incesnsed (a lot of eye rolling, face making and shouting) while @BilleneSeyoum kept hammering her points home with typical #Ethiopian dignity and a hint of bemusement. Ice cold! 2/ Becky's defense of CNN's investigative journalism was pathetic. May be she hasn't read Nimas report in full. Remember the forensic dentist?
