May 20: Phoenix TV featured soon-to-retire @CPC_HQ Sen. Victor Oh of Ontario. Oh flew to Richmond for a ceremony to bestow awards, in the name of the late Queen Elizabeth II, to Lower Mainland pro-#CCP luminaries Maria Ling Xu and Hua Harris Niu. #cdnpoli #bcpoli #vanRE #ufwd
Not the first time: Conservative Sen. Victor Oh held a similar January 2023 ceremony in Richmond in Mandarin, recognizing members of the pro-Beijing Canadian Alliance of Chinese Associations. #ufwd #ccp #vanRE #bcpoli #cdnpoli thebreaker.news/news/senator-o…

🧵What’s B.C.'s biggest "media operation"? Perhaps only rivalled by @cbcnewsbc, it’s Government Communications and Public Engagement (GCPE), the people behind @BCGovNews. Annual budget ~$28M. The PR dept. of #bcgov is managed by @bcndp political appointees. #bcpoli
The executive committee is generally cabinet-appointed. Deputy Minister @DonZadravec spent 10 years at National PR and was a lobbyist for a pipeline company. #bcpoli#cdnfoi

🧵#ThisIsWhyIFOI Remember Dr. Bonnie Henry at the @Canucks home opener? I asked @bcndp#bcgov under #FOI about who paid for the jersey and other expenses. Many readers wonder about the PHO attending such commercial events. #bcpoli#cdnfoi#FOIAFriday#SportsBiz#covid19
This morning, @bcndp#bcgov tells me it has rejected my #FOI request about Dr. Bonnie Henry at the @Canucks game, because she was allegedly there as a private citizen, not because she is the provincial health officer. Where have I seen that lame excuse before? 🤔#bcpoli#cdnfoi
🧵@adriandix made Telus CEO Darren Entwistle a special advisor to @BC_EHS. Dix and Entwistle have a bond and Entwistle is one of B.C.’s top corporate minds. While other telecoms invested in media and sports, Telus went aggressively into healthcare. #bcpoli
The Telus 2020 annual report management discussion and analysis reveals how important the healthcare sector is to Telus. #bcpoli
🧵Can we believe @bcndp pandemic data? #BCgov has under-tested and made #covid19 case/death reporting errors along the way. I wanted to know how many and whether they were corrected. This is about science and history. I filed an #cdnFOI request last July. #bcpoli#GiveUsData
I asked for B.C.-wide and health region correction and revision notices for March-July 2020. The original due date: Sept. 14. #bcpoli#cdnfoi#coronavirus#GiveUsData#FOIA

🧵About @jjhorgan, @adriandix and @DrBonnieHenry keeping secrets and risking public health. Blessed are the whistleblowers and leakers. Be thankful, too, for the unexpected documents that sometimes show up in FOI disclosures. #GiveUsData#cdnpoli#bcpoli#coronavirus
Dr. Bonnie Henry and Dr. Reka Gustafson are not serving public health or science by withholding so much information. No excuses. They have a large budget and bureaucracy, but they’re either unwilling or not allowed (by the NDP minister) to be transparent. #bcpoli#cdnfoi

Like many reporters, I collect passes for events I cover. @JustinTrudeau staff wouldn’t let me keep this from @CoastGuardCAN photo op in Vancouver. They said it would be reused. Today’s other event is party, not PMO. Pass is dated. I also said it’s single-use plastic. #cdnpoli
Another PMO staffer, taking orders, tried to prevent me from taking photos of the PM walking down the gamgway, in case he were to fall. PM ably descended, as you can see. Sukh Dhaliwal, however, needed help. The Surrey Liberal MP didn’t have sea legs today. #cdnpoli#cdnmedia
