Given the full community spread of #SARS_CoV_2, it is time to stop incessant #RTPCR testing in asymptomatic people, so called "healthy sick" , and save resources. Start early Rx with ivermectin+budesonide+Zn+ chicken soup+kadha or whatever in mild to moderate #Covid_19 cases. 1/n And, reserve #ICUs for serious #Covid patients only. Start triage and stop the use of #Remdesivir and #convalescentplasma therapy ASAP, as it doesn't help save lives. Don't hospitalize maniacs hyperventilating due to fear in the Covid ward and shift them to counseling ... 2/n

If we look at proportion of #Covid_19india patients on #ventilator support, it is 0.4% to 0.5%, which reflects ARDS due to Pneumonia due to #COVID19 as cause of death (COD) ( @WHO code: U07.1/2)... 1/n So, around 150 deaths in 3000 projected deaths are actually due to #Covid_19india Epiphenomenon: People with diabetic complications, advanced cancer etc where the main COD is underlying health conditions, but #COVID19 can only be a contributing cause .. 2/n

The real figure in Covid-19 is the infection mortality rate (IMR), as I mentioned earlier. Case fatality rate would be higher, as testing in symptomatic cases only will reduce the denominator. Large population testing in Germany showed IMR to be 0.3%.. 1/n Image Even at 1.3% mortality in Germany where testing included mild cases and 8.7% in UK where testings were done in severe cases, >80% of deaths occurred in persons above 65 years.
