The foundation of the temples was laid way back during the Gupta period (6th -9th century AD) . According to Legends, Temple was established by Pandvas during "Agyatwas" and also Janashrutis' are It was set up by Adi Shankaracharya.
Interesting fact about Astadhatu idol "it changes its expression" sometimes"has a smiling face and sometimes a angry posture" the idol has such effect on the devotee that he take off his eyes from the idol. On both sides of the idol there is something written in Brahmi script.

Power of Positive Thoughts & Words

In current situation when the world is facing a pandemic, it's important to think & speak positively. Here's a small story I heard as a child and tried to reproduce it here.

@anexcommie @gary_agg

#SanataniYoddha #teamSanatanIndia
Once there were two brothers, both were vastly different to each other. The elder brother was temperamental & always used to think negatively and used cuss a lot, sometimes without any context.

@shreikanth @HelloNNewman @RajeIyer @Padmaavathee @JumbuTweeple @Kishoreciyer1
While the younger brother was mild-mannered, always thought there's a silver-lining in every dark cloud and his thoughts used to reflect in his speech.

As for lifestyle, the elder brother was rich and the younger one was doing okay in their respective life.

Desire - cause of suffering

Every beings ultimate goal is liberation (Moksha) from the cycle of birth. But then wht stops them from getting the liberation? #SanataniYoddha #teamSanatanIndia
@anexcommie @gary_agg
It's 'desire', cos the desire for something anchors one's action to this world. Let's look at a short story by London Swaminathan (courtesy:…)

River Godavari in South India was in floods. Two friends Ramappan and Thimmappan went to see the floods. @shri_v
They were enjoying watching lot of furniture, house hold utensils and trees and animals that were washed away and floating. Suddelny Ramappan noticed a big black bag floating in the middle of the river. He pointed it out to Thinnappan and said,

Tri means three. Shul means suffering. When unified, the Trishul signifies that which destroys the three-fold suffering arising from the three types of pain:
1. Aadibhautik (physical)
2. Aadhyaatmik (spiritual), and
3. Aadidaivik (ethereal)
As the Trident or Trishul is held upright in the hand of the Divine Lord Shiva, it is held as the one who COMMANDS this healing energy of the divine. The trishul is the primary weapon of Lord Shiva and was also used as a weapon of his ten-armed consort Maa Durga.
It is probably the most powerful weapon mentioned along with Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra. The three pointed blades of the Trishul represent Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva himself and are said to hold their divine energy.

~Maha Vishnu~
There was once an elephant named Gajendra who lived in a garden called Ṛtumat which was created by Varuna. This garden was located on Mount Trikuta, the Three-Peaked Mountain. Gajendra ruled over all the other elephants in the herd.
One day as usual he went to the lake near by to pick lotus flowers to offer prayer to Lord Vishnu. Suddenly, a crocodile living in the lake attacked Gajendra and caught him by the leg. Gajendra tried for a long time to escape from the crocodile's clutches.
All his family members, relatives and friends gathered around to help him, but in vain. The crocodile simply would not let go.

When they realised that ‘death’ had come close to Gajendra, they left him alone. He trumpeted in pain and helplessness until he was hoarse.

Tridevi represents the the triad of three goddesses.
Each of the goddesses depicted as one, has a rich and complex history. Maa Lakshmi is to the left Maa Parvati is in the middle, and Maa Saraswati is to the right.
The triple-goddess is standing on a lotus, which is rich in mythological significance. For one thing it represents purity, for another thing it may be associated with chakras (wheels, padmas, vortexes, most of the main ones along the spine area).
Each devi has many arms, which represents several functions. One of their hand gestures is one of fearlessness - the abhaya mudra. At times a devi is represented as having two arms, at other times four arms, and still other times as having eight arms.

Maa Annapoorna is giving Alms to Shiva 😌

Shiva : Parvati "nature is illusion, world is illusion, matter is mirage even food is just maya".

Parvati, mother of food : If I m an illusion, let's see how you manage without me and disappeared.
Time stood still, seasons did nt change, there was terrible drought on earth.
Sages cried : trahimaam trahimaam!!
Parvati's heart melted nd she appeared in Kashi nd set a kitchen.
Shiva ran to her and presented her bowl in alms saying :
Now I realised...
...the material world like spirit cannot be dismissed as an illusion."

Parvati smiled and fed Shiva with her own hands. 😌

Snce then Maa Parvati is worshipped as Maa Annapoorna.
Goddess of food.🙏🏻🙏🏻

One of the ancient chants for invocation which lies in the heart of Vedas is “Om Namah Shivaay”. This chant has deeply rooted in many cultures. Devotees have dedicated this chant in order to sing the greatness of Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva is “the Destroyer” among the Trinity gods in terms of divine. “The Auspicious One”, “Mahadev”, “Shankar”, “Maheshwor”, and “Devendra (Chief of Gods)” are other holy names of Lord Shiva. Mahadev has always been regarded as one of the primary forms of Gods.
All three Gods of Trinity have their own purpose. Lord Brahma is also known as Creator, following Lord Shiva known as The Destroyer and Lord Vishnu as The preserver.

Lord Shiva is iconized as all knowing Yogi who lives a simple life in Mount Kailash.
