Surprise, surprise.

After @PeterDutton_MP’s Dept promised Senate Estimates that @kpmgaustralia didn’t identify “any significant issues” with #Paladin picking up a $400m+ Govt contract, today we find out that wasn’t true. #auspol

According to a detailed report by @FinancialReview today, Peter Dutton’s Department commissioned KPMG to complete a “value for money” assessment on the Paladin contract, and received the draft report back in 2017.
Disturbingly, KPMG reportedly said Paladin posed a “moderate to high” financial risk. This is a long way off Peter Dutton’s Department claiming that there were not “any significant issues.”

Scott Morrison and the election are frauds. He has never governed in the public interest and took the position in a party room coup. The government spawned from this is illegitimate. It claims legal authority, but due to the nature of its birth, it has no moral authority.
Power takes many forms. We can attain charismatic power through merit, or through wisdom and great deeds. This government has none. By its actions preceding the election it has demonstrated complete contempt for Australians. This is unforgivable and unacceptable.
Dismissing parliament and avoiding scrutiny, perpetuating falsehoods (death tax, retiree tax), saturation on social media, colluding with the extreme right, peddling racism, seeking preferences from Clive and Pauline, denying climate science, any one of which is unforgivable.

It's Home Affairs #estimates today. Here are some states care of Michael Pezzullo's opening statement:
The number of appeal cases awaiting review in the migration and refugee division of the administrative appeals tribunal has grown from 21,404 to 55,500 in the two years to February
“higher risk” detainees are now 74% of onshore detention population ("higher risk" is contested by those who note that some people facing deportation under character test clauses have served sentences and been deemed fit to return to the community by the justice system)

Using G4S to force #Manus refugees to move is dangerous & provocative.
G4S had not been involved in Manus camps since they attacked refugees in 2014. Then G4S was contracted to run the detention camp on Manus.
In February 2014, G4S employees & others attacked refugees.
1/
Feb 2014 continued: At that time, PNG mobile police squad pushed over the perimeter fence, entered Mike compound & fired shots within the accommodation blocks. G4S personnel followed the police into the Mike compound & started bashing
detainees. 2/
In February 2014, during three days of attacks on the refugees by #G4S staff, local citizens & the PNG mobile police squad, 69 #Manus detainees were injured, some of them seriously, and an Iranian asylum seeker, Reza Barati, was killed. 3/

@ScottMorrisonMP tells @leighsales that #Paladin not a small company (with shack) but a large company based in Singapore. How odd. If large, why tender not transparent and audited? @BehrouzBoochani reports local staff paid $5000 per year and more than $400million unaccounted for.
Clearly @ScottMorrisonMP thinks we are all fools. Including the journalists on #Paladin trail. His claim all plane arrivals have had “character tests” worse than laughable. Shonky agents? People on false passports? MORE asylum seeker applications declined from planes than boats.
Who else thinks it’s incredibly sad that an Australian PM has nothing better to offer than yet again defaming refugees who fled terror - and so wretchedly attacking activists or any politicians trying to restore minimal decency to the heart of this nation?
