Ex US National Security Council official confirms citing "multiple former senior U.S. officials" that Russia & Ukraine agreed in April on peace deal framework of #Russia withdrawing to pre-war positions & #Ukraine promising not to seek #NATO membership. Deal was stopped by UK PM.

Fiona Hill & Angela Stent: "According to multiple former senior U.S. officials we spoke with, in April 2022, Russian and Ukrainian negotiators appeared to have tentatively agreed on the outlines of a negotiated interim settlement..." #Ukraine #Ukraine️war foreignaffairs.com/russian-federa…

"...Russia would withdraw to its position on February 23, when it controlled part of the Donbas region and all of Crimea, and in exchange, Ukraine would promise not to seek NATO membership and instead receive security guarantees from a number of countries." #Ukraine️war #Ukraine

"Proxy war & not peace: #Ukrainian media reports that "Russian side was almost ready for the Zelensky-Putin meeting" for peace deal to end #ukrainewar. But it was abandoned after British PM visited #Ukraine & told #Zelenskyy not to negotiate with #Putin."

Sources close to Zelenskyy revealed that UK PM came "almost without warning" with 2 messages: "Putin is a war criminal, he should be pressured, not negotiated with" & "even if Ukraine is ready to sign some agreements on guarantees with Putin, they are not" pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2022/…

Ukrainska pravda suggested that Boris Johnson was messenger who told #Zelenskyy that it was not only his position but also position of collective West, i.e. US-led position, not to make peace deal between #Ukraine & #Russia. This is consistent with UK status vs US. #Ukraine️war

It's revealing that many accept propaganda & fake news concerning #UkraineRussiaWar but deny that #Ukraine & #Russia were close to peace deal in April despite admissions by Ukrainian officials close to Zelenskyy, senior Russian officials & "multiple former senior U.S. officials"

They even deny admissions by "multiple former senior US officials" cited by ex-deputy assistant to US president/senior director for Europe & Russian affairs in National Security Council & ex-official in charge of Russia & Ukraine in National Intelligence Council & State Depart.

Russian withdrawal to pre-war position in exchange for no NATO membership was written proposed peace deal by Zelenskyy. It was accepted by Russia as basis for negotiations. Russia demanded recognition of Donbas independence & could agreed only to withdraw from non-Donbas regions.

Besides sources close to #Zelenskyy revealing that Johnson told him in April not to sign peace deal with #Russia, British PM during his surprise visits to #Ukraine openly opposed peace talks to end #UkraineRussiaWar

#Zelenskyy ended talks right after Johnson visit & not after Bucha war crimes: "President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated his point that it would be difficult to negotiate with Russia after the Russian atrocities in Bucha, but that there was no other choice" strana.news/news/384922-uk…

And: "During his trip to Bucha today, a BBC correspondent asked Zelensky if he still thinks it is possible to discuss peace with Russia. "Yes, because Ukraine must find peace... We will continue our diplomatic and military efforts," Zelensky said." strana.news/news/384811-ze…

Mainstream Western media didn't report confirmation by former senior US officials that there was peace deal outline between #Ukraine & #Russia to end #UkraineRussiaWar & Ukrainian media bombshell that British PM stopped talks in April. I first posted both of these 4 months ago.

The only partial exception

And @QuincyInst report: "Russia and Ukraine agreed on a tentative deal to end the war in April, according to a recent piece in Foreign Affairs. The news highlights the impact of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s efforts to stop negotiations..." responsiblestatecraft.org/2022/09/02/dip…

"Decision to scuttle the deal coincided with Johnson’s April visit to Kyiv, during which he reportedly urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to break off talks with Russia for two key reasons: Putin cannot be negotiated with, and the West isn’t ready for the war to end."

"The apparent revelation raises some key questions: Why did Western leaders want to stop Kyiv from signing a seemingly good deal with Moscow? Do they consider the conflict a proxy war with Russia? And, most importantly, what would it take to get back to a deal?" #Ukraine️

And Putin now: "after the start of the special military operation, including the talks in Istanbul, the representatives of Kyiv reacted very positively to our proposals... After certain compromises were reached, Kyiv was actually given a direct order to disrupt all agreements."

Revelations by Ukrainian senior officials in Ukrainska pravda that UK prime-minister told Zelenskyy not to sign peace deal & by multiple former senior US officials in Foreign Affairs article that such deal outline was agreed preceded this Putin statement
en.kremlin.ru/events/preside…

And: "That became clear already in March, when Moscow and Kiev came close to reaching mutual agreements. Such turn of events obviously frightened the Americans and the British, so they actually forbade Ukraine to conduct further dialogue with Russia." newsweek.com/exclusive-russ…

In fact, nobody cares about views and fate of ordinary Ukrainians and their agency

Proposed peace plan to #Russia by Ukrainian delegation in March included neutrality/no #NATO membership, support for EU membership, security guarantees to #Ukraine, & #Donbas & #Crimea status to be discussed separately later. faridaily.substack.com/p/ukraines-10-…
