Welcome to a new thread for Monday 10 April with all the news from the conflict in #Ukraine.

It's Day 411 of #Russia's bombs raining down on civilians.

I got a lot of feedback y'day for mentioning the original 2014 invasion, and today's a bit of a landmark, reaching day 3,333.

Sunday was much busier than many recent weekends: no religious pause from #Russia on what was Orthodox Palm Sunday

A lot of destruction, deaths of a father and daughter, a fightback in #Bakhmut, invaders' camp hit in Zaporizhzhia region and more, all here

Personnel losses for #Russia starting to creep back up again.

This may be due to the pinpoint strikes with #HIMARS and other rockets as much as close combat in #Donetsk.

Little change elsewhere - artillery hits still slightly above average.
All figures estimated by #Ukraine

Just one tank in that last update on #Russia's losses, and it may have been this one..

A rare yellowish Russian T-72B3 (2011 model)

As far as we know there were only two of these with their unique "camouflage", shown in a military parade in #Yekaterinburg a few years ago.

I think those who write the daily Intel updates didn't expect to still be doing this 400+ days later.

They've increased the font and reduced the screen size to make it look like they're filling the space😅

Today's gem tells us there's fighting in #Marinka #Mariinka #Maryinka

Did I confuse you with 3 separate spellings for the same place?

Well, the original is Мар'їнка

The ' is not used in English but here it means the ї is pronounced more like "yi".
But most Ukrainians prefer to use an i instead of a y, so ii (same with ia=я and iu=Ю e.g. Iuliia)🇺🇦

#Germany's Interior Minister @NancyFaeser says she'll refuse visas to athletes from #Russia or #Belarus for events in the country.

Bravo Ms Faeser for saying even if they are re-admitted to international competitions “Countries that host major sporting events are not powerless."

More destruction in #Kherson after the dropping of aerial bombs and further shelling by #Russia.

No casualties, but an architectural monument, a cardio hospital, a local government building and an art museum all suffered damage.

#Ukraine's spokesman for #Mariupol' again speaks of genocide in the Occupied city.

Piotr Andryushchenko says more and more settlers and soldiers from far eastern #Russia arrive in the city and eradicate the culture and memory of what Mariupol was before the war

Andryushchenk also says Ukrainians are being forcibly evicted from a village just outside #Mariupol

#Lisne (name literally means forest) is being made into a military base, because it's easy to hide equipment in the forest)

Invaders are already in #Nikolske

Video postcard from #Avdiivka.
Try as they might, the invaders still can't take the small town (pre-war population of only 30k), which is less than 10 miles from central #Donetsk.

But the scorched earth policy of #Russia continues.
#RussiaIsATerroristState

Overnight #Russia shelled a cemetery in #Kramatorsk.

Even when you die the Terrorist State won't leave you alone.

#DonetskIsUkraine

Elsewhere in towns and villages near the frontline in #Donetsk, plenty of damage and casualties.

#Druzhivka #Avdiivka #Kurakhovo #Dachny all suffered with four people needing hospital treatment.

#StandWithUkraine

#Ukraine is claiming this is (unverified) video of one of its own attack drones hitting #Russia's air defence.

This is near #Avdiivka in #Donetsk region.

With new western machinery, we are seeing a lot more Russian defence systems being successfully destroyed.

#Putin's #Russia

"On your knees. Kiss the ground, you scum. You are Russian" says a worker in a kindergarten.

Even kids' playgroups are becoming like concentration camps as Russian society degenerates.

Congratulations to #Ukraine...

News reaching me that they have shot down the 600th aircraft of the Russian Federation in the 14th month of the war.

This time #Russia lost an Mi-24 helicopter near #Avdiivka.

#SlavaUkraini

Looks like there's been another prisoner exchange, but no news from #Kyiv yet.

#Russia says 106 of its personnel have been released from captivity after negotiations, "who were in mortal danger" which I take to mean they were sick.

#StopRussia

Confirmation has just come from Andriy Yermak in the President's Office:

"We are bringing home 100 of our people - they are soldiers, sailors, border guards, and national guardsmen. Among them are defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal and Hostomel. Some are seriously injured.

My first #RussiaOnFire of the day comes from the capital.

An oxygen cylinder is said to have exploded in Nahabino, #Moscow region.
The subsequent fire covers 1,000 sq metres.

No further details yet.

There are so many stories about the US Intel "leaks".

But as some have clearly been doctored, and we don't know if there was an intended leak by the US, it's hardly worth reporting what is still essentially speculation.

e.g. Ukraine will run out of air defence missiles by 3 May

#RussiaOnFire

A scare for residents in #Moscow.

Not far from the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation is a hole in the pavement a foot (30cm) deep where a witness reported an explosion and flames.

The cause was said to be a short circuit of high-voltage wires.

#Bulgaria has said it will transfer MiG-29 fighters to #Ukraine, but only if western partners supply Bulgaria's MoD with more modern combat aircraft.

The ministry made it clear "they are not going to transfer fighter jets to #Kyiv for free."

#StandWithUkraine

#Russia's Occupiers have finally admitted the attack on #Tokmak, which I reported here yesterday.

The fact it's taken so long to show any photos or video is highly likely because of signifcant damage and troop losses.

Russia claims two people were injured.

#Russia's state propaganda channel publishes this video which I publish unedited:

"A video of the likely death of a mercenary from Britain in the Donbas came into the possession of RIA Novosti.

The recording was made on the action camera of a Ukrainian soldier who later died."

Experience the pure emotion, relief and joy as a Ukrainian mother hears from, and sees her son for the first time after being a Prisoner of War.

Ignore the subtitles of the first 25 seconds as they pick up the background noise. In fact you don't really need any subs!

In #Russia, article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation states up to 20 years in prison for recruiting mercenaries using one's official position.

Here municipal buses in #Omsk, owned by the mayor's office, proudly advertise #Wagner's recruitment campaign.

Another war almost started in #Russia...

A panelist on the primetime propaganda TV blurted out that many more Russians had been killed than Ukrainians in the war, and the reaction was priceless!

#SlavaUkraini

Seen in #Russia:

"Remember the ruins of Grozny, do not fight for the Russian occupiers" appeared on a wall in the Shchukino district of #Moscow.
