Yesterday we saw #Russia's brotherly love for Eton Musk. Russian advances in #Bakhmut. Explosions in occupied #Melitopol as well as usual attacks on the liberated part of #Kherson and #Kharkiv.

For the first time the @TheStudyofWar states that #Ukraine troops have claimed land south of the river (left bank) in #Kherson region.

I'm not 100% convinced. I'd say this coastal region is uncontrolled, with very regular sorties by 🇺🇦 tactical squads:

More on the #Kherson "landings" by #Ukraine troops on the other side of the river.

Here's one, sent by @VASILIS11O - again I'm told these have been happening for weeks and are getting more common, but I'm not convinced there's a "permanent" camp (yet!):

Also in occupied bits of #Kherson & #Zaporizhzhia regions, many reports of #Russia's invaders grilling locals to know how many fighting age men remain in their village.

Between the two on this route is the village of #Khromove. Sadly, the drone footage shows how many casualties there have been, and continue to be, on this deadly route.

In #Zaporizhzhia's front line, a single small bomb from a single drone causes a lot of damage.

It's clear a fair bit of ammo was ignited at this camp used by #Russia.

In Irpen, the council installed a structue of concrete blocks as the bombed building is demolished. The artwork is being cut out and placed in a metal frame, to be displayed elsewhere.

#Russia is throwing a hissy-fit over the U.S. refusing to give visas to so-called journalists from the Terrorist State.

FM Lavrov, who'll chair UN meetings said it "showed the worth of solemn assurances on freedom of speech”, conveniently ignoring Russia jailing a US journalist.

#Wagner owner Prigozhin promises to "destroy everyone who is on the battlefield and not take a single prisoner anymore."

He was responding to a recording, suspected by many to be fake, allegedly of #Ukraine military discussing how they killed a captured wounded Wagner soldier.

The headline from today's update from #Ukraine's General Staff is that #Russia suffered heavy losses in #Avdiivka.
Kyiv claims the invaders tried unsucessfully to advance.

Ukraine also says "heavy battles are on-going for the city of #Bakhmut."

An elderly grandfather has been killed by Russian shelling in #Kherson.

The 80 year old was hit in the village of #Kizomys this afternoon.

A local school and 25 residential buildings were hit.
Two women, aged 57 and 85 were wounded, the latter suffering a head injury.

One person's died in shelling of occupied #Donetsk.

This happened in the Petrovskyi district of the city.

#Russia's state news agency reports the mystery disappearance of three diplomats in a pleasure boat in the Red Sea.

My first thought is they're fleeing something and faking death. Why was the ID tracking switched off?

The deaths of two MPs in #Russia has been announced on the same day.

56 year old Dzhasharbek Uzdenov had reportedly been ill for a long time, while Nikolai Bortsov who was 77 has also died. Both were from the majority "United Russia" party.

A Ukrainian oligarch who's under investigation for helping #Russia, has turned up in #Switzerland after managing to flee the country.

Vadim Novinsky, who's also suspected of fraud, now masquerades as a deacon at the Russian Orthodox Church in #Zurich.

I started the day wishing well to Roman Kashpur.

I'm delighted to say that 4 years after losing half a leg when stepping on a landmine, Roman typified the #Ukraine spirit and completed the London Marathon today.
