First: Even people's basic life needs are conditional even with Aadhaar because of fingerprint gods, link failures and what not.

Again coming back to the legal fight on private use, it is basically about Section - 57 of the Aadhaar act, which allowed anyone to ask for Aadhaar on the threat of service denial.

The Supreme Court had serious concerns around it, as it severs the connection with the money bill and the act being an instrument for delivering subsidies and benefits (Govt. claimed so)

So what is the public response for it? A questionable study by @StateOfAadhaar using a specious survey methodology to "Claim" that public support Mandatory Aadhaar for private services, where ignorance is showcased as insight.

I don't have issues with capitalism. If you are smart and good, make money by taking risks. Sure. But you also need to face the downside. (Business failing because of the risks). Here risks are faced by the public, and profits are to the private entities - Crony Capitalism.

That is Aadhaar for you. It was rolled out claiming to help the state and citizens, but in effect only helps private entities. What is the cost to the public exchequer? Several billions, just on enrollment.

Even on LPG, which @CGDEV used to put out wonderful headline figures, they have gone back on the figures. Why? Because on LPG, the exchequer had losses, another billion $ (in red).

So modus operandi so far:
1. Claim super headline figures on fiscal savings, sprinkled like Chat Masala.
2. When busted, come up with specious surveys.
3. Argue in the court for "Entitled to use".

And people keep suffering. This is state of Aadhaar for you - Chat Masala
