Hiĺlary had no clue how psychologically empowering the rebellion was. Finally you could laugh at the NYT and Harvard. At last you could sneer back at all the comedians who had gotten rich making fun of all the things you once held sacred, precious and dear.
At long last you could reply to that supercilous contempt, that cruel sarcasm, those studied insults with mockery of your own. And if you mispronounced a few words, so what? It felt so good you didn't care.
And the only comeback they had was to call their foes Deplorables. That's when people realized the unstoppable campaign was not only out of touch but stupid. The portrait is Ben Rhodes sobbing on a bench. He never saw it coming.
