Boogie is the latest in a long line of cishet white men to sympathize - and ultimately reaffirm - the far right, for what amounts to Nazis being "nicer" and "humourous" around him.

This is the far right weaponizing their demographics against marginalized people via appeasement.

It is fairly obvious as to why fascists would be nicer to Boogie - like many liberals/centrists they are conditioned to view politics as a matter of polite disagreement. Marginalised folk being angry at their oppression and societal injustice is often uncomfortable for them.

Compare this to the fascist, eager to build upon the misery of capitalism, to reinforce the social order that marginalizes black, queer, disabled ppl etc, and you see a tonal shift - Boogie meets a schmoozing, jovial liar that laces insidious ideas with "fun" and wins him over.

The absurdity of someone saying the far right were "nicer" is a reality for centrists - their interaction with them is limited to polite conversations and idle chat. They see it as a mere set of ideas, as they never have to worry about being persecuted for their identity.

Combine centrist naivety with the privilege cishet white men have, and you have someone literally suggesting fascist movements are "nicer" to him, and that anti-fascists would do well to emulate this.

Or in other words, not be passionate about abating *Nazism*. See the picture?

The far right are able to draw focus on "politeness" and "niceness" to make liberals and centrists blame socialists and anti-fascists for political disquiet...

...allowing the horrifying nature of the far right to go unchallenged by institutions and in society in general.

And look at the effect it has on discourse. Boogie thinks the far left could be "nicer"... while a fascist administration is placing brown children in concentration camps, scrapping regulations to make capitalism more profitable, gutting discrimination laws...

It is a disgrace.

Fascism does not need the cheering endorsement of every single citizen - it merely seizes control of the rhetoric, pushes enough centrists into apathy and ignorance, weaponizes enough of the public against the marginalized and the people trying to stop it.

We have to realize that being nice is not the same thing as being good.

We have to refuse to accept the ideas of civility that deem marginalized people speaking out about their mistreatment as "too uncomfortable to make progress.

We must reject fascist discourse about us.

Boogie is a centrist flush with societal privileges, and the far right use him and others similar as a tool to further their goals. His clueless views on LGBTQ rights and counter fascism are forged from this; it is time to abandon politics that covet the far right entirely.

If we are not firmly alongside the marginalized, standing for the workers of the world against capitalism and oppressive far right regimes, what good are we but observers of the next fascist movement?

Fascism must be 100% opposed, along every axis. Keep your eyes peeled.
