Marginalized people that are angry at the societal bigotry, hatred and violence bestowed upon us through both individual discrimination and the wider marginalization our capitalist society crafts for us haven't done anything wrong and shouldn't be castigated for being targeted.
"maybe you should have been politer to them" asks cis person of trans person faced with the seventh threat from a fascist this week

"don't make such a fuss" says white guy to black man repeatedly called racial slurs by white guy's friends
"we should have a civil debate" says conservative preacher to woman afraid of being killed for trying to get abortion (by said conservative's fans)

"not everybody is used to you, you know" the straight person says to the gay couple after being barred from adopting
"keep yourself to yourself and this wouldn't happen" guy that shoves man in wheelchair says when criticized

"the Holocaust was YEARS ago, not the same thing" Jewish group are told when their social media is swarmed by Nazis
I could go on, because the ridiculous comments here are only a thin slice of the atrocious rhetoric we face daily. Far, far too many people aren't willing to take the side of justice when confronted with bigotry, be it conversational remarks or systemic discrimination.
People that judge life based on a tone of voice, place politeness and civility over fairness and justice, are people that are conned by fascists and enablers of bigotry.

Knowing this, it's no wonder such people are so frequent in a society of right wing social organisation.
