Asked to ID top 3 things he's doing to cut air pollution, @EPAAWheeler’s most telling response is this: “I’m not sure I’m going to be able to give 3 off the top of my head.”

Ponder that: Wheeler struggles to name 3 significant things he & EPA are doing to cut air pollution. 2/
Wheeler’s 1st answer is ‘announcement of a proposal to reduce [nitrogen oxides] from heavy-duty trucks.’

This announcement was a press release w/ zero details. It specified no pollution reductions, won’t be proposed until 2020, & won’t take effect until 2024 at the earliest. 3/

That lactation RN then said “My ancestors did not fight in the Revolutionary War 4 ppl to come here with their hand out” & “Slavery happened a long time ago. People need to get over it”

Identified as “one of the good ones”, she’d felt comfortable saying this to me on minorities
That left struggling with the cognitive dissonance of her words: how did she simultaneously take credit for ancestors fighting in the Revolutionary War (at the end, slavery was codefied into law until another war was fought to end it) and AlSO tell others to “get over” the past?

I suppose we can safely say that now #TheFrighteners have been so successfully and publicly put on a certain sector their combined angst will spew a diarrhoea of spin & warp whilst trying to use THAT VERY THING to generate $£Es Some with automated AdTech software already bought.
2/ Some bought by gormless companies, by mistake, some in full knowledge or partial knowledge of what it could do. It will be interesting as time goes on to see who apparently DIDN'T CARE about the likely instigation of its more negative 'dark' capabilities looking to 'side-step'
3/ or even 'wrong-foot' Irish & EU regulation standards, & possibly law. This too is a kind of #climatechange & #ClimateAction in itself, a would be mammoth untouchable iceberg of 'dominion' & 'control' being melted out into an ocean of citizens' scrutiny & advancement for change

There are those here who strive to inspire peers, provide a space for connection & rally for change through the various discussion threads. It's clear to me that there's a lot of passion & desire to do great things in the world by those who I follow/see in my feed. 2/
I can also feel the collective frustration/anger/angst/sadness/resignation/sympathy/name that heavy emotion when any of our efforts aimed at success & liberation from system constraints appear to be blocked by injustice, abuse, ineffective strategy or poor communication. 3/
