hey! Izzy and I will be at the Foley Square/Brooklyn Bridge march this morning, probably with the DSA contingent if we can find them!
okay so we hung out with the neat DSA baby contingent until I started worrying that Izzy was overheating because she wouldn’t stay in the shade or drink water but it was very nice!
i am uh very scared of izzy getting dehydrated or burned or sun poisoning or something, and when Kristin isnt there to give me a “normal brain” opinion I maybe overreact
on one hand she has extremely sensitive very pale skin, but on the other hand she does have a very funny little butt

ahh so at like 5:30 Izzy got her sandals and started thrusting them at me so I was like, uh, do you want to go for a walk
so I changed her out of the pajamas she had worn since her nap and put a dress on her and headed out for a bit while Kristin made dinner, and I was like - you know what, it’s free First Saturday at the Brooklyn Museum, a seven minute walk from my apartment, lets go see an art
so we go and look around some of the first floor exhibits and I pick up a program and am blown away to see that Flor de Tolache, a mariachi band we listen to a bit, is going to be playing in an hour

Okay. So you're all going to have to massively ignore me for a second. Because I am about to fanboy the SHIT out.

And it is about an amazing writer who got a stubborn little kid (me) who is now a writer (still me) to read.
So when I was a kid, I used to love TV, particularly scifi and cartoons. Basically anything with a plot.

But I wasn't big on reading. That was meh.

Then my mum introduced me to Doctor Who novelisations at about age nine. And I DEMOLISHED them. But that was ALL I would read
I think I LOVED the stories, but I was still not that fussed about reading. Because it felt like extra effort. I mean, why not just WATCH them if you can instead?

But then my teacher said: "oh you like Doctor Who. Did you know we have Star Trek books in the school library?"

Okay, so, in this previous thread I unpacked a little of why Peter Parker finds Spider-Gwen impossibly aggravating.

Now, here's a thread about how Gwen's character arc, starting from her debut appearance, reflects a steadily increasing disdain for Pete
So, fresh out of Seanan McGuire's excellent Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, we have this panel, which reflects the PRESENT state of Gwen's feelings about Peter Parker.

The Peter in this panel is not 616 Peter (indeed, he does not even love Gwen romantically) but she's pissed at him
(I'll explain a LITTLE of what's going on in this panel later on, but people should REALLY just read the comic. It came out on Wednesday. Buyyyy it.)

Anyway, no matter how you look at it, this is a REALLY abrupt departure for a character who regarded HER Peter Parker as a BFF.

Okay. I'm doing this. If no one reads this, at least it might serve as therapy. After years growing up in Ashland, OR and being exposed to pretty much the entire Shakespeare canon, I went to acting school in Seattle, WA. #MyBrilliantCareer
I had always been a movie kid. Watching the Oscars since I was god knows how small (on a 10" tv). Tuning into Siskel & Ebert religiously every Sunday. Harassing my local theater to program Raising Arizona and She's Gotta Have It and Baron Munchausen. #MyBrilliantCareer
So I get to Seattle - and see Do The Right Thing. My mom had taken me to NYC for my high school grad present - and that's it. I'm all in on NYU. Started attending in fall of '90. #MyBrilliantCareer

Morning all. Court starts at 10 this morning with some housekeeping. Check back in around 10:30 for an update.
Housekeeping over. Government forced to “unreservedly apologise” for blowing court deadlines before hearing. Court currently considering sanctioning Government.
We’re back: Court orders Government to pay @libertyhq’s costs as consequence of blowing pre-hearing deadlines. The theme of Govt thinking rules don’t apply to them, and the Court needing to remind that they do, guaranteed to resurface later today.
