I would like the field of CSE to demand an explanation as to why MESMAC were forced to close down CSE org BLAST after being investigated by Charities Commission and why their Manager was not re-employed - and why he is now banned from delivering training in Yorkshire & Humber
This has gone on in silence. The charities commission investigated an organisation working in our field and closed them down - their manager suddenly announced he became self employed which means he didn’t get offered another job. Why? Why did these things happen?
Why did BASIS have to take over BLAST? Why did only BLAST get shut down as MESMAC successfully runs other services? Why have the local authority issued guidance not to receive training from the ex-Manager of Blast?
How can this field claim to be child centred and transparent whilst we allow such a huge issue to go unspoken about?

Hundreds of professionals have been trained by and have worked with BLAST - don’t they all deserve an explanation as to what happened?
I mean, what does this statement from the Charity Times mean? The general public and professionals were told that the charities commission got involved due to the conviction of their trustee for sexually abusing boys
But he was already convicted - so what sexual misconduct did Leeds City Council refer to police to investigate?

2 months later, Blast is shut down.
In an email that was sent out to hundreds of professionals last week, Yorkshire and Humber have made the decision not to recommission ex manager of Blast to deliver any training for them in the future. Why is this? They cite ‘serious safeguarding issues’. What does this mean?
