The progressive firm that rose to fame for raising millions for Bernie Sanders's presidential campaign is now in crisis.

Over the last six months, at least 27 employees have left Revolution Messaging or given their notice.

While the firm still does business with each, its campaigns team has lost several of its biggest accounts: Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Chris Murphy, and Giffords PAC.
Employees say they’ve long had concerns about the“trial-by-fire” approach as a manager of former CEO Scott Goodstein, and a “sink-or-swim” culture that’s left staff overextended and afraid to voice their frustrations.

Current and former staffers who take issue with the workplace don’t question Goodstein means well. They said he has used the firm as a force for good inside the progressive movement. And some employees have had great experiences.
But in interviews, 11 current and former female staff said the work environment contributed to a feeling that women couldn’t advance at the company — even one that prided itself on its status as a majority-female firm.
In December 2017, a female employee filed a formal complaint against the then-CEO.

The employee alleged she developed severe headaches and tiny cracks in her teeth from stress.

In a statement provided by Revolution Messaging officials, the former CEO allowed that there had been problems, but said he believed he had represented employees well.
