1/ "Intolerant" and "toxic" bitcoin maximalism? Understand what's going on beneath the surface with altcoins and their affinity scamming
2/ Affinity fraud: "in which the fraudster preys upon members of identifiable groups, such as religious or ethnic communities" "The fraudsters who promote affinity scams frequently are – or successfully pretend to be – members of the group"

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affinity_…
3/ They try to make out like it's a 'crypto community' and align themselves with known bitcoin pioneers and advocates.
4/ They try to pass off their altcoins as 'something like' bitcoin. Or even "like bitcoin, but better"
5/ an example is getting well known bitcoin people to act as 'advisors' - but they don't actually want advice. They want paid tweets, paid promotion, and to affinity scam you

e.g.
6/ So naturally, bitcoiners perceive this as scammy attempts to pump altcoins with false promises of BTC's huge gains and monetary network effect. They act to try and deny the altcoin scammers
7/ Then, altcoin scammers try and say - "oh those bitcoiners? they're such BULLIES"
- Those maximalists are so TOXIC
8/ Really, it's that the maximalist types are being honest about what a market for money would look like, and what it takes to be sound money
