They're saying Joss Whedon is doing a Buffy reboot. I'm not letting my heart hope on this one. I've been burned before. If you want basic explanation of why I consider Buffy the Vampire Slayer the greatest show of all time this might help:
The basic premise for Buffy was that Joss Whedon was tired of seeing the blonde walk into the dark alley in horror movies and get eaten, he thought "Wouldn't it be cool if she kicked the monster's ass". What he came out with was the greatest love letter to feminism in TV history.
If you still think Buffy is just for kids:
A) Watching it as an adult is completely different. There are episodes I hated as a kid which I love as an adult & viceversa
B) It address drug addiction, sexuality, misogyny, rape, morality, philosophy, peer pressure, isolation, purpose
E.g. Buffy episode: She wakes up in a mental ward. She's told all the monster fighting wasn't real. She flits between the 2 realities during the episode with the docs telling her she needs to kill her friends to be better. The last shot is her slipping into a coma in the hospital
As a kid I hated that episode, it was basically saying all of Buffy is just a dream. As an adult, that episode's amazing. It addresses the problem that everyone else is only as real to us as we perceive them to be. We forget that other people have their own realities to deal with
And if you haven't got the message that I'm a major Buffy the Vampire Slayer nerd... I give you the happiest day of my life (summer 2010) 🦇
