One reason why the Brexit debate is now so aggressive is because MPs like Andrea Leadsom keep saying that letting the people vote on a deal which POLITICIANS are responsible for, and which even Brexit voters hate, somehow means Remainers are calling Brexit voters stupid. #Peston
Let's say:
1⃣I hate our current relationship with the rest of the EU
2⃣I vote to end that relationship
3⃣The government negotiates a new relationship
4⃣I think it's worse than the old one
5⃣I vote to stick with the old one.
Does that make me 'stupid' or just not psychic?

These politicians, like Andrea Leadsom, know Brexit hasn't worked out as they promised and instead of admitting that, they want the people to get angry with each other rather than blame the politicians who brought us here.

I don't have a party to run / election to win, so maybe it's rich of me to stand on principle; maybe I'm naive, but...
I'm not willing to pretend that a good Brexit deal is possible just because I'm scared people (who I should have won over on Brexit) might think I'm ruining it.
I get why some might choose that due to their own strategic priorities. But if we go down the path of "keep trying Brexit until every last person is convinced it can't work":
a) We risk crashing out.
b) People would blame the EU not Brexit #HowWeGotInThisMess
c) It's dishonest
🔻The Tories want to endanger the Belfast Agreement which the EU won't allow. And even this Brexit will be rejected.
🔻Labour's Brexit must meet the 6 tests. That means Single Market & Customs Union. Parliament would never approve that for the same reasons we're stuck now.

I'm aware they often meet many leave voters who've changed their minds.

This thread shows those voters who've been willing to record something.

A busy afternoon in the Chamber with 2 Urgent Questions and a Statement from @therea_may. It’s clear after today that we won’t be having anything like a “meaningful vote”, as was promised.
I asked @theresa_may what she had to say to the thousands of young people that took part in the #PeoplesVoteMarch, who didn’t get a say in the referendum. Her answer won’t provide any solace to the next generation.
I asked @DominicRaab how he can reconcile Gov preventing MPs from amending the motion on the final deal with the Leave’s campaign’s promise that Brexit would allow us to ‘take back control.’ He had no answer.
