Amer Miller was shot and killed after being robbed. He was a week away from his 18th birthday and had a bright future ahead of him.
At the local community center, his English teacher DeMarcus McMillan read an Essay Amer wrote, its quoted in the Washington Post article.
Amer’s essay said:
How do we end gun violence?
We should do it shoulder by shoulder, arm in arm, marching forward. We should do it without violence but do it with peace to show our community and our nation that we are not going to take it anymore.
