Bruce loves a balanced budget. He's been pushing it for a while. A balanced budget requires you to not spend more than you bring in.

The CBO tells us this new tax code projects a pretty hefty shortfall.
From their April numbers - we'd need to dig up an extra $804 billion just this year to be "balanced".
I don't know about you, but that's more than I have shaking around in my piggy bank.

The CBO chart for 2017 shows us where our money goes. If you have to save $804 billion, your only real options are to go after Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Defense.

The combination of balanced budget and massive tax cuts with current revenues makes it mathematically impossible to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Defense intact.

Do you want a Rep who sends you letters about meaningless awards to tell you they want to save something their policies will kill?

Look for truths and consistency, even if those truths are unpopular or hard to hear.
