I still can't quite believe the Labour party has ended up here but it is ending up here again & again & again theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
& i think it's doing so not just because Corbyn has a blind spot on Jewish issues but because he has a problem with criticism. He cannot accept being in the wrong on "his" issues, such as racism, ergo all critics must be acting maliciously.
so he cannot do what any politician should do when ANY minority community consistently says it is threatened/scared/deeply offended by their policy, which is 1. check your own privilege 2. review policy in good faith
& powerful people who can't take criticism really worry me. Being able to see when you're wrong (sometimes for good, honest reasons; nobody's perfect) & change the wrong thing is huge underrated skill in politics.
btw: I don't like MPs personally abusing each other. But in politics it happens; people say things you'd get sacked for in real life. It's *ridiculous* to pretend that is what the Austin or Hodge rows are really about.
