My newsletter is all Twitter threads this week. I think Twitter threads have done a lot of good things and (at least) one bad thing:
1) They've made it easier to provide additional context or follow up on a thought.
2) Related, they've moved Twitter a little further away from extreme opinions & soundbites to actual content.
3) They've provided a great way for smart folks to mull on a big idea without bothering with HTML, hosting, etc.
4) This also seems to have resulted in more focused posts, rather than big, rambling blog posts. A lot more signal than noise.
5) Unfortunately, this also means a lot of GREAT content from smart people is owned by Twitter and could get removed/buried/etc at any time.
