The exact opposite of what is required to win support for a trade deal. By saying anyone concerned with one issue is an enemy of trade you make that the case. And then you don't have support for your agreement.
Of course we now know that Fox listens to the IEA who are allegedly being paid by US interests to push a US trade deal. This will therefore increase suspicion further.
Trade deals are often controversial - do you think UK farmers are looking forward to deals with agricultural exporters like New Zealand? - so you need to build consensus, as I wrote here ecipe.org/publications/a…
Meanwhile Fox and his Department have yet to notice or comment on the fact the UKs work towards independent schedules at the WTO is not going to plan, thus causing difficulties for future bilateral negotiations.
To continue a previous theme, could it be the case that the trusted advisors don't in fact know as much as they claim to about trade policy? Because right now if the intention is for the UK to be a free trade country, we're failing... /end

As forecast the UK Government has committed to following a significant part of single market rules after Brexit as part of the backstop and commitments to Northern Ireland (doc - assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…)
Although the Government paper says this will be "only a small fraction of EU rules", in fact there are nearly 70 pages of the Withdrawal Agreement simply listing the regulations Northern Ireland will have to follow under the backstop (example page below)
In case you are missing the significance, the UK Government has confirmed that the whole country will follow EEA / single market disciplines without any representation until a new deal can be agreed.

Brexit is testing Parliamentary procedure. The Government does not command a majority.

Might as well break protocol further, it is time for a Parliamentary committee to take control of the Brexit process.
Yes, I can think of many reasons why this won't work, but nothing that would work better. We're going to be stuck in Parliamentary bickering for weeks unless something new is done.

Thus any statement a Minister makes about the future relationship being secured (such as that below from the Gov's 40 reasons to back the Brexit deal) is false. The political declaration setting out the future relationship is not binding. 3/

It's mostly made up of Tommy Robinson supporters, ex-EDL, Britain First and Pegida UK supporters
Some 'yellow vest' protesters were heckling @OwenJones84 and other journalists outside Parliament early in December, before starting wearing the jackets that have become a symbol of sometimes violent anti-government protests in France

The leaders of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico will sign their revised NAFTA agreement (USMCA in American law, CUSMA in Canadian law) in a few minutes. The original NAFTA will remain in place until their legislatures ratify the new one; approval in the U.S. Congress is no certainty.
It's more than a photo op, though it isn't the end of the process. The leaders have to sign the agreement before their legislatures take it up. So it's a step in the process, just not the end.
NAFTA remains in place. The only other possibility is that Trump gets angry with Congress and withdraws the U.S. from NAFTA to pressure Congress into ratifying the new deal, basically saying "take the new one or take nothing." But that's a long way away.
