/ Why Modi government’s #Rafale36 is not a transparent deal and why the cost of around ₹1670 crore per Rafale is too exorbitant a price? Why Opposition is calling it #RafaleScam?
We have clear answers available in public domain given by The then DM Parrikar. #RafaleScamThread
/ A Ministry Of Defence press release dated 28 August 2007 states the then government’s estimated cost for the MMRCA deal with total 126 aircrafts were ₹42,000 i.e 333.33 cr per aircraft.

/ Immediately after Modi Announced the #Rafale36 deal from France, in an interview to a News Channel, the then DM Manohar Parrikar told “if we go for 126 Rafale, the total cost would have been 90,000 crore ‘inclusive of everything’”.
/ That means, the price would have bee ₹714.28 crore per Rafale “inclusive of everything”. Okay, for an argument, let us be a bit more generous and add another ₹250 crore (for the heck of it). Still it is more than ₹700 crore less than Modi govt’s price (per aircraft)
/ Parrikar, in another interview (NDTV) told, the decision to purchase 36 units of Rafale was PM Modi’s own decision
/ Yet, in another interview to Doordarshan, Parrikar reiterated what he told to NDTV - The decision was taken by Modi alone and many BJP leaders are unhappy with it
/ Later, Parrikar changed his stand and said 126 Rafale would have costed 1 lakh crore - 10,000 crore more than what he said earlier. That is ₹793.65 per Rafale inclusive of everything which is still ₹877 crore less than Modi govt’s deal price

/ Later Parrikar again contradicted himself and changed the total value for 126 Rafale to 1.3 lakh crores. That is ₹1031.74 crore per Rafale inclusive of everything which still is ₹639 crore per aircraft less than Modi govt’s ₹1670 crore per aircraft.

/ So, the question remains - where did the money go? Even if we take the the highest value quoted by the then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar (for the heck of it) - ₹1031 crore per aircraft, Why did Modi govt paid ₹23,004 crore extra for 36 Rafale - That too without ToT?
/ That precisely is the reason Nirmala Sitharaman and other Ministers of Modi govt along with RW supporting media and Modi Bhakts are not comfortable in disclosing the actual price because this as his own decision, it implicates Modi directly with massive corruption in the deal
/ Because while Modi was announcing his decision to purchase 36 Rafale fighter jets from France for Indian Air Force, Defence Minister of India was busy inaugurating a Mobile fish stall in his home state Goa

/ At the end of the day, everything proves it was a unilateral decision by Modi where he didn’t even consult his cabinet colleagues and no mandatory approval from the Cabinet Committee on Security was taken before his announcement.
/ Read this along with the incorporation of two new defence manufacturing companies by two business magnets - immediately before Modi’s announcement - who are personally close to the Indian PM.
Without doubt, we can say, Modi’s #Rafale36 deal is a scam.
/ We have highlighted all these flip flops of Parrikar and more details in an article last year November. You can read it here👇🏼
