The amount of hypocrisy of people defending Sarah Jeong’s tweets is staggering. They now resort to ad-hominem attacks on those daring to just show what she posted.
Some of these people have political view you may disagree with and even abhor. But they didn’t make her post these things, just like those who pointed to Gunn’s old “lol pedo” tweets didn’t make him post these.
This thread is fascinating. The poster will do anything in his power to discredit valid criticism of Jeong.

The Hate U Give was a great movie, moving and useful in making people empathetic to the struggles of the black Americans.
It’s not patronizing and doesn’t present things in a manichaean way. The intersection gang violence x police brutality is well presented.
Only issue is the “white privilege” part, as, to be clear, the white kids aren’t your typical WP, but part of the 0.01% and this’s what define their privilege.

The “they can’t survive on their own” is also a strange argument. Leave your newborn on its own and see what happens.
The decision to see abortion as a right is purely political/societal. We could/should debate it as such, not at all as a health related question.

Congrats. You succeeded. You pushed Japanese developers to “westernize” their games. This is the ultimate form of cultural appropriation.
Remember that forcing developers to adapt to “progressive” western societal norms was always part of the plan. Controlling content, censoring Art in the name of neopuritanism.
DOA was an easy, obvious target for these people who are external to gaming, who fundamentally hate gaming, but see it as a battlefield, affirming the superiority of well-meaning western values over a decadent East.

1. The Verge, Sarah Jeong's current employer, has published an "interim edition" of "The Internet of Garbage" because it's "gone out of print". It's been available at the Internet Archive. I read it earlier this month and live tweeted my reading.
2. Please don’t @ her. I very much doubt she cares what I think and she will likely consider it harassment.
3. Note that page numbers in my threads may not line up to 1.5 edition. They reformatted the text & used a different font so text isn’t always on the same page.

Disgraceful is an NHS hospice forced to close a *third* of its beds because some its nurses - wonderful, extraordinarily kind individuals - feel so unwelcome now in Britain they have been driven home to Spain, Portugal, Italy etc. 2/n
Disgraceful is the racism, abuse & hate unleashed by your foul & toxic referendum campaign - and, in particular, the racism towards EU staff we have witnessed, post referendum, in my own NHS hospital. 3/n
